An electrophotographic photoreceptor is disclosed, including a substrate having thereon a photosensitive layer, wherein the substrate is subjected to a wet honing treatment with an abrasive agent which has a Knoop hardness of 1500 to 2900 kg/mm.sup.2, a 50% particle size of 5 to 55 .mu.m in terms of cumulative percentage, and a bulk specific gravity of 0.75 to 1.6 g/ml, at a spraying speed of 20 to 75 m/sec.

Method of wet honing a support for an electrophotographic photoreceptor

An electrophotographic photoreceptor has a photosensitive layer layered on a conductive substrate, and the photoreceptor comprise the improvement wherein a surface roughness of the conductive substrate is such that a center average roughness in standard length at 0.25 mm is not more than 0.6, and the center average roughness and a transmittance at a wavelength of light to which the photosensitive layer is exposed meet the following condition. ##EQU1##

Electrophotographic photoreceptor and related method

An electrophotographic photosensitive member has a charge-generating layer which includes selected photosensitive pigment particles and a compound which is a tetracyanoanthraquinodimethane compound, an anthraquinone compound, a dicyanovinyl compound, or a special quinone compound. The compound is incorporated in an amount in a range from 0.01 to 2 molar equivalents, preferably 0.1 to 1 molar equivalent, to the pigment, which has a positive hole transporting property. The photossensitive member has a charge-transporting layer and can also have a protective layer. The pigment is a phthalocyanine series pigment, a squearyrium series p igment, or a perylene series pigment. A process of using the photosensitive member includes reversal development and multicolor toner transfer. It is found that the process is adaptable to change in size of the transfer medium.

Electrophotographic photosensitive member and image forming process

An electrophotographic light-sensitive material is disclosed, which comprises a conductive support having formed thereon, in succession, a charge generating layer and a charge transfer layer, wherein the charge generating layer comprises a binder resin containing therein a positive hole-transferring charge generating pigment and a specific dicyanovinyl compound or coumarin compound. An image forming process using the electrophotographic light-sensitive material is also disclosed.

An electrophotographic photoreceptor is disclosed, comprising an electrically conductive substrate having thereon and a light-sensitive layer, said light-sensitive layer comprising an electric charge generating layer and an electric charge transporting layer, wherein the electric charge generating layer contains an electric charge generating organic pigment having positive hole transporting properties and a pyrylium compound represented by the formula (I) or (II): ##STR1## wherein X is an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom; R.sub.1 to R.sub.5 are each a hydrogen atom, and alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, a benzyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted styryl group, or a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl group, and Z.sup..crclbar. is an anion.
