Electrode sets each composed parallel electrode plates and a slider are arranged in a contact point accommodating chamber formed with wall portions of an upper case and a lower case. A lever of a knob penetrates through a slit hole in a ceiling wall. A tip end of the lever engages blocks in a box portion in the slider. The slider slides while an opening end surface of the box portion makes contact with a lower surface of the ceiling wall surrounding the slit hole. The slider presses a ball urged by a coil spring retained in the box portion press on a swing contact piece supported by a second of the electrode plates to roll thereon, thus switching a conducting state between the second electrode plate, and a first electrode plate and a third electrode plate.

Switch device

A contact point member comprises contact point pieces extending from both ends of a base portion and a gripping portion extending from the center of the base portion. The base portion is placed on an upper surface of a holding portion in a base member and is inserted between a main wall of a surrounding wall and stoppers on the holding portion for positioning. After a front end of the base portion is pressed and inserted under a presser portion provided in the main wall, when the gripping portion is pressed on the holding portion, an engagement piece formed in the rear end of the gripping portion is engaged to a corner hole formed in a projection of the holding portion, thus preventing the falling-down of the contact point member. The mounting operation of the contact point member is easily completed simply by pressing down the gripping portion.

A spherical portion of a shaft is provided with engagement projection portions at two locations to be arranged by intervals of 90&#xb0; in the rotational circumferential direction and there is provided a guide portion including limiting faces for being engaged to the engagement projection portions to lock a swing motion of the shaft and release recessed portions for releasing the engagement of the engagement projection portions at a switch operational position where the operational knob is rotated to allow an operation of the inclination motion by the operational knob in a plane direction due to the swing of the shaft. This construction thus prevents the operation of the inclination motion by the operational knob when the operational knob is at a neutral position.

In a switch device including: a push button disposed in an opening of a switch case and operable to be tilted in any one of a plurality of directions by being pushed at an outer edge side; a rubber contact that forces the push button to a position before pushing; and a movable contact and a fixed contact connectable to each other by each pushing operation on the push button, a convex portion and a concave portion that can be spaced apart from each other are separately provided to the push button and the switch case for rotational support and positional regulation of the push button with respect to the switch case at the time of a tilting operation by each pushing.

A switch apparatus, comprising an operating knob having a knob-leg with a bifurcation formed in the knob-leg, the operating knob being supported so that the operating knob can be operated to rock; and a slide switch having an engagement portion insertable in the bifurcation formed in the knob-leg so as to engage the bifurcation; wherein when the operating knob is operated to rock, the engagement portion receives a force from the bifurcation through the rocking movement to operate the slide switch; and wherein the slide switch has a limiting element that maintains the knob-leg in engagement with the engagement portion so that the knob-leg is prevented from disengaging from the engagement portion.

A power window switch includes an operating knob having a knob-leg with a bifurcation formed therein, the operating knob being supported so that the operating knob can be operated to rock, and an auto switch supported in a housing and having an operating boss that engages the bifurcation formed in the knob-leg. When the operating knob is operated to rock, the operating boss receives a force from the bifurcation to operate the auto switch. The slide switch has walls that face an end of the operating boss projecting in a direction perpendicular to a plane in which the knob-leg swings. The walls are spaced apart from the end of the operating boss by a distance d shorter than a width D of the knob-leg. This arrangement minimizes the possibility of the knob-leg disengaging from the operating boss without increasing the thickness of the knob-leg.

A switch which can widen a degree of freedom of setting height and shape of a click groove while providing a click groove on a side of a movable contact and promote operation feeling without increasing cost. This switch brings a movable contact into contact with a fixed contact and separates the movable contact therefrom by pivoting a movable piece by moving a steel ball on the movable piece by operating a switch knob; wherein the movable piece is provided with a flat click portion having a contact portion and a click groove at an end edge thereof, the click portion being arranged erect relative to a housing; a steel ball contained in a ball support portion via a coil spring; and an opening of the ball support portion provided with a fitting groove to be fitted loosely to the end edge of the click portion of the movable piece.

Switch

A seesaw type switch is provided having a light permeating indicator capable of being illuminated, and at the same time preventing ingress of dust. The switch includes a switch knob supported on left-to-right walls on both sides of a cylindrical knob fixture for oscillating operation, and a boss having a curved surface concentric with the center of the support on the side of an operation lever of the switch knob and existing over a light permeating indicator zone. Fore-to-aft facing sections facing contiguously with the curved surface on both sides before and behind the support center are provided on fore-to-aft walls of the knob fixture. Left-to-right curved surfaces facing contiguously along both sides of the curved surface of the left-to-right facing boss are provided on the left-to-right walls of the knob fixture. The light permeating indicator zone of the boss is formed by using a light permeating material.
