In the mobile telephone, an image display surface of a display is arranged on a front surface of a casing, and a camera is arranged on a rear surface thereof. The mobile telephone includes: a proximity sensor, and acceleration sensor, and a control circuit. The control circuit includes: a unit that detects that the casing has been placed on the object; a unit that performs a color conversion process for converting a color of each pixel into a complementary color on an image signal obtained from the camera before detection of that the casing has been placed on the object; and a unit that outputs a color-converted image on the image display surface when an incoming call/mail is received after detection of that the casing has been placed on the object.

A portable communication terminal having an image-taking function is composed of a camera unit that takes an image of a subject through a photographic lens, and two displays, the first display being positioned on same a front surface of housing of the portable communication terminal as the photographic lens and being visible in a same view as the photographic lens, and the second display being positioned on a back surface of the housing. A portable communication device including a GPS antenna, a GPS processing circuit for determining a location of the device based on a signal received by the antenna, a location information processing circuit for detecting the location information corresponding to a determined result, a key input device for inputting a telephone number of a communication terminal device for transmitting the location information, a control circuit, and a transmitting circuit. The key input device is provided with a LOST key. The control circuit feeds the location information detected by the location information processing circuit to the transmitting circuit when the LOST key is manipulated. The transmitting circuit transmits the location information to the communication terminal device having the inputted telephone number. The present invention provides a foldable portable communication terminal device including a main body case and a lid case openably connected. The main body case has a side portion provided with an up key and a down key. The portable communication terminal device has a secondary battery, power supplying switch, and a control circuit incorporated therein. The control circuit switches the power supply switch to on/off when the up key and the down key are held depressed at the same time for at least the predetermined period of time. This starts or stops power supply from the secondary battery to the device body to switch the power source of the device body to on/off. Accordingly, the foldable portable communication terminal device can be realized which is adapted to turn off the power source of the device body with the main body case and the lid case folded together.

A position information providing system of the invention, portable telephones A and B are connectable to a service center. The telephone A has a GPS processing circuit for measuring its own position and a control circuit. The circuit prepares position information based on the measurements obtained by the GPS processing circuit, also prepares a list comprising the numbers of a plurality of telephones in response to an input manipulation by the user, and transmits the prepared list data to the center. When an information request signal is supplied from the telephone B to the center, the server transmits the position information as to the telephone A to the telephone B only when the number of the telephone B is not included in the list data. Thus, the system realized is adapted to reliably protect the privacy of the person carrying the telephone A.

Method of and system for providing position information

A portable telephone of the present invention comprises a casing, a LCDand a key input devicedisposed on a surface of the casing. The casing has a microphonefor delivering speech, a speakerfor receiving speech, a backlightfor lighting a screen of the LCD, a key light devicefor lighting a manipulation surface of the key input device, and a control circuitincorporated therein. The control circuitchecks whether a speech delivery signal input from the microphoneis a voice signal. If the speech delivery signal is a voice signal, display operation of the LCDis set to OFF and both the backlightand the key light deviceare turned off. If the signal is not a voice signal, display operation of the LCDis set to ON. Consequently, useless power consumption is reduced.
