An improved modularization of an airbag cushion covered with a cover member and a method for manufacturing the same are disclosed. A first press is performed on the first portion of the cover member in a state where the folded airbag cushionis not covered with the cover member. The first portion has at least a portion that includes a position corresponding to an inflator within the folded airbag cushion. Next, the folded airbag cushion is covered with the cover member, and in the covered state, a second press is applied to at least a part of the second portion of the cover member excluding the first portion.

Airbag device and method for manufacturing same

[Problem] To provide a side airbag apparatus that improves passenger restraining performance and maintains a form at the time of housing. [Solution] A side airbag apparatusincludes a frame-side plate portionof a seat, and an airbag moduleattached to the frame-side plate portion. The airbag moduleincludes a bracket, an inflator, an airbag cushion, and a soft coverthat is wrapped around the bracketand the airbag cushionin a housing form. The bracketincludes a through-holethrough which a stud boltextending from the inflatorpasses, and a hookprovided at predetermined location on the front side of the frame-side plate portion. The soft coverincludes a bolt anchoring holeto which the stud boltis hooked, and a hook anchoring holeto which the hookof the bracketis hooked.

Side airbag apparatus

A side airbag device includes: an inflator; a cushion main body that is disposed at a side of a seat of a vehicle and that is expandable from the side toward a front of the vehicle by a gas; a cushion protrusion that is disposed at a vehicle front side with respect to the cushion main body and that is expandable to project further toward the front of the vehicle by receiving the gas from the cushion main body; a tether that is string-shaped, the tether bridging from the cushion protrusion over a predetermined position of the side of the seat, the tether maintaining the cushion protrusion in a state in which the cushion protrusion is folded back toward a rear of the vehicle; a sensor that receives information from the vehicle; and a tether cutter that cuts the tether according to the information obtained by the sensor.

Side airbag device

A side airbag apparatus which allows a reduced amount of base fabric and, enables gas to flow efficiently inside the cushion. An inflator () supplies gas, a cushion () in which base fabrics are formed into a bag shape and inflates and deploys to protect an occupant () during a vehicle emergency, a base fabric joint portion () which is provided to join main panelsandof the cushion () in a linear manner and partitions the cushion () into a rear chamber (), a front chamber (), and an opening () provided midway along the base fabric joint portion (). The base fabric joint portion () includes vent forming portionsandarranged in two rows which extend from both ends of the opening () towards the front chamber () or rear chamber () and form a projecting vent (). The projecting vent () permits flow of gas between the rear chamber () and the front chamber ().

Air bag device

An airbag apparatus capable of protecting an occupant by restraining movement of the occupant in an obliquely forward direction and towards a far side during a collision. A far side airbag apparatus (), which is an airbag apparatus, deploys between a driver seat () and a front passenger seat () arranged side by side in a vehicle width direction of a vehicle cabin (). The apparatus () includes a cushion () which is embedded in a floor of the vehicle cabin () and reaches a height at least equal to that of a pelvis region () of an occupant () seated in either one of the driver seat () and the front passenger seat () during inflation and deployment.

Airbag apparatus

A side airbag device having a plurality of chambers. The side airbagincludes: an inflator; a rear chamberwhich deploys at a side partof a seat backand a middle restraining partthat protrudes toward the front of a vehicle and a main partat a rear side. A sectioning wallwhich constitutes a front edge and an upper edge of the rear chamber. A front chamberinflates into areas toward the front of the vehicle and the upper part of the vehicle from the sectioning wall. A vehicle air bag device in which gas leakage prevention is achieved via mounting of a bracket on an inflator. The vehicle air bag device includes an air bag that is formed integrally with an inflator insertion portion into which an inflator is inserted. The air bag device also includes a bracket that is formed to attach the inflator to a vehicle body side, and that includes an inflator side mounting portion mounted onto an outer side of the inflator insertion portion so as to partially cover the inflator insertion portion. A strip-form body surrounds and integrates the inflator side mounting portion and the inflator disposed in the inflator insertion portion.

Vehicle air bag device

A vehicle air bag device having an air bag that is formed integrally with an inflator insertion portion into which an inflator is inserted. The air bag device also includes a bracket that is formed to attach the inflator to a vehicle body side, and that includes an inflator side mounting portion mounted onto an outer side of the inflator insertion portion so as to partially cover the inflator insertion portion; a strip-form body that surrounds and integrates the inflator side mounting portion and the inflator disposed in the inflator insertion portion; and a seal portion that is formed on the inflator side mounting portion in alignment with the strip-form body.

A vehicle air bag device may include an air bag having an integrally formed inflator insertion portioninto which an inflatorfor discharging a gas is inserted. A bracket that is formed to attach the inflator to a vehicle body includes an inflator side mounting portionmounted onto an outer side of the inflator insertion portion so as to partially cover the inflator insertion portion partially. A strip-form bodyis disposed over and attaches the bracket, the inflator insertion portion, and the inflator such that the strip-form body. The strip-form body and the inflation insertion portion are displaced from each other by a step formed by the bracket, thereby forming a gap disposed between the strip-form body and said inflation insertion portion. A seal portion formed on the bracket is sealingly aligned with the strip-form body and seals the gap.
