An engine system includes: a reformer including a catalyst for decomposing fuel into hydrogen and configured to reform the fuel to generate a reformed gas containing the hydrogen; a temperature detection unit configured to detect a temperature of the reformed gas; a rotation fluctuation detection unit configured to detect an amount of rotation fluctuation of an engine; and a deterioration detection unit configured to detect whether reforming performance of the catalyst of the reformer is deteriorated based on detection values of the temperature detection unit and the rotation fluctuation detection unit, wherein when, in an idling period of the engine, the amount of rotation fluctuation of the engine is equal to or greater than a second threshold in a state where the temperature of the reformed gas is equal to or higher than a first threshold, the deterioration detection unit determines that the reforming performance of the catalyst is deteriorated.

Engine system

An engine system includes: a combustor including an ignition unit configured to ignite the fuel gas and configured to generate combustion gas that heats a catalyst; an outside air temperature detection unit configured to detect an outside air temperature; a catalyst temperature detection unit configured to detect a temperature of the catalyst; an operating environment detection unit configured to detect an operating environment of the combustor; a combustion time determination unit configured to determine combustion time of the combustor; and a start control unit configured to, at a time of starting the engine, perform ON control on a starter and the ignition unit and control a third fuel supply valve, a first flow rate control valve, and a second flow rate control valve to open, and thereafter when the combustion time elapses, perform OFF control on the ignition unit and control the third fuel supply valve to close.

An engine system includes: an ammonia engine; a reforming device that has a reforming catalyst for cracking ammonia gas into hydrogen and configured to reform ammonia gas to generate reformed gas containing hydrogen; and a control unit. The control unit includes: a purge controller configured to control a reforming injector so as to be closed and control a reforming throttle valve so as to be opened, after an ignition switch gives an instruction of a stop of the ammonia engine; and an engine stop controller configured to control main injectors so as to be closed, after the ignition switch gives the instruction of the stop of the ammonia engine.

A heat storage device includes a reactor, arranged in an exhaust system, having a formed body chemically reacting with ammonia and generating heat, and an ammonia reservoir, connected to the reactor, for storing ammonia. The ammonia reservoir incorporates therein an absorbent physically absorbing ammonia. The ammonia reservoir has a heat-exchanging structure and is temperature controlled by heat exchange with an external heating medium.

A hydrogen filling system includes: a hydrogen tank that is filled with hydrogen; a determination unit that determines whether to fill hydrogen into the hydrogen tank; and a temperature regulating unit that regulates a temperature of the hydrogen tank, wherein, when the determination unit determines to fill hydrogen into the hydrogen tank, the temperature regulating unit starts cooling the hydrogen tank before filling of hydrogen into the hydrogen tank is started.

An apparatus and method purify hydrogen from a mixed fluid containing gaseous hydrogen, gaseous oxygen, and liquid water. The apparatus has a mixed fluid channel through which the mixed fluid flows; a first gas channel through which a mixed gas containing gaseous hydrogen and gaseous oxygen flows; a second gas channel through which gaseous hydrogen or oxygen flows; a gas-liquid separating membrane forming a wall between the mixed fluid channel and the first gas channel, separating the mixed gas from the mixed fluid of the mixed fluid channel, and providing the separated mixed gas to the first gas channel; and a hydrogen or oxygen separating membrane forming a wall between the first gas channel and the second gas channel, separating gaseous hydrogen or oxygen from the mixed gas of the first gas channel, and providing the separated gaseous hydrogen or oxygen to the second gas channel.

Apparatus for purifying hydrogen and method for using the same

The present invention provides a hydrogen generation device using a photocatalyst to generate hydrogen from liquid water or water vapor and a method of using the same. The hydrogen generation device of the present invention has a water channel through which liquid water or water vapor flows, and which has an outer circumferential wall made at least in part of a transparent material; a hydrogen channel through which hydrogen flows and which is located at the inner circumference side of the water channel; a hydrogen separating membrane forming at least part of a wall between the water channel and hydrogen channel, separating hydrogen from the liquid water or water vapor in the water channel, and providing the hydrogen to the hydrogen channel; and a photocatalyst layer arranged on least at part of the water channel-side surface of the hydrogen separating membrane.

Hydrogen generation device and method of using same

A heat sink () for power module is capable of mounting a power device () on at least a surface of the heat sink. The heat sink includes a refrigerant passage () in which cooling medium that dissipates heat generated by the power device () flows and a corrugated fin body () arranged in the refrigerant passage (). The corrugated fin body () has crests () and troughs () that extend in the flow direction of the cooling medium, and side walls () each of which connects the corresponding one of the crests () with the adjacent one of the troughs (). Each adjacent pair of the side walls () and the corresponding one of the crests () or the corresponding one of the troughs () arranged between the adjacent side walls () form a fin (). Each of the side walls () has a louver () that operates to, at least, rotate the cooling medium flowing in the associated fin (). The heat sink () thus has a further improved heat dissipating performance.

Hydrogen gas storage device

A hydrogen storage tank includes a tank main body, partition sections, and a hydrogen flow pipe. The hydrogen flow pipe prevents MH powder from passing through and permits hydrogen to pass through. The tank main body includes a hollow body portion having openings on opposite ends. Dome portions are joined to opening ends of the body portion. Partition sections are provided in the body portion so that first retaining chambers, which retain the MH powder, are defined in the body portion. Extended portions, which serve as second partition members, are provided in the dome portions to divide the space in the dome portions into second retaining chambers, which retain the MH powder.

A semiconductor apparatus includes a semiconductor device, a cooler of a forced cooling type, and a heat mass. Heat generated in the semiconductor device is conducted to the cooler. The heat mass comes into junction with the semiconductor device with solder so as to be thermally combined with the semiconductor device. The heat mass functions also as an electrode.

The current flow of the blower is adjusted in accordance with the heat load on the radiator.

A hydrogen fuel automobile has a heat medium passage through which a heat medium which can exchange heat with a drive portion and can be supplied to a heat medium pipe for a hydrogen tank flows. An air cooling apparatus has a compressor for compressing a refrigerant gas, a condenser, an evaporator and a refrigerant circuit. The hydrogen fuel automobile is provided with a bypass passage which branches from the refrigerant circuit so that expanded refrigerant liquid detours the evaporator so as to be drawn into the compressor. A switch portion can switch between a state where the refrigerant liquid passes through the evaporator so as to be drawn into the compressor and a state where the refrigerant liquid detours the evaporator so as to flow through the bypass passage. The hydrogen storage material cooling portion cools the hydrogen storage material in the hydrogen tank using the refrigerant liquid that flows through the bypass passage. Accordingly, the time for filling the tank with hydrogen can be made short in comparison with a case where the radiator and the fan mounted in the automobile are used to cool the hydrogen tank when the tank is being filled with hydrogen.
