An irradiation apparatus attached to a rotary gantry includes a middle housing unit and a lower housing unit. Touch sensor apparatuses are attached to a middle housing unit, and touch sensor apparatuses are attached to a lower housing unit. The touch sensor apparatus includes a cover, a pair of cover support apparatuses for attaching the cover to a support member of the middle housing unit, and a sensor unit attached to each cover support apparatus. When the cover comes into contact with a bed and moves toward the support member during rotation of the irradiation apparatus, a link such as a cover support apparatus activates the sensor unit, and a contact signal is output. The touch sensor apparatuses also function in the same manner.

Particle beam irradiation system

A therapeutic bed is arranged so that its inclination is adjusted by a bed inclination adjusting device provided to a rotation drive device disposed in a Y-direction moving device. The bed inclination adjusting device supports the therapeutic bed at three points by its three inclination adjusters. Each of the inclination adjusters converts the rotation of a motor into the rectilinear motion of a slider, and varies the level of a universal joint provided to the therapeutic bed by a support rod rotatably attached to the slider. This allows the inclination angle of the therapeutic bed to be varied. The provision of the bed inclination adjusting device reduces the number of drive devices for positioning the therapeutic bed, thereby decreasing the cumulative value of errors in all drive devices.

Radiotherapeutic bed apparatus

Disclosed is a medical particle irradiation apparatus comprising a rotating gantryincluding an irradiation unitemitting particle beams; an annular framelocated within and supported by the rotating gantrysuch that it can rotate relative to the rotating gantry; an annular framefixedly located opposite the annular frame; an anti-corotation mechanismbeing in contact with both the annular framesandto prevent the annular framefrom rotating together with the rotating gantryduring rotation of the rotating gantry; and a flexible moving floorinterposed between the annular framesand, the flexible moving floorbeing engaged with the annular framesandin such a manner as to move freely such that its bottom is substantially level and that it moves as the rotating gantry rotates.

Medical particle irradiation apparatus

Disclosed is a medical particle irradiation apparatus comprising a rotating gantry including an irradiation unit emitting particle beams; an annular frame located within and supported by the rotating gantry such that it can rotate relative to the rotating gantry ; an annular frame fixedly located opposite the annular frame ; an anti-corotation mechanism being in contact with both the annular frames and to prevent the annular frame from rotating together with the rotating gantry during rotation of the rotating gantry ; and a flexible moving floor interposed between the annular frames and , the flexible moving floor being engaged with the annular frames and in such a manner as to move freely such that its bottom is substantially level and that it moves as the rotating gantry rotates.
