An image scanning system comprises: an image-capturing device that captures an image of a scan original and outputs image signals; an image processing circuit that executes image processing on the image signals; an image signal output device that outputs the image signals having undergone the image processing; a calculation device that calculates an estimated length of required time to complete image signal output after a scan instruction with regard to the scan original is issued; and a calculation result output device that outputs calculation results obtained at the calculation device.

Image scanning system

An image reading system and computer readable medium storing control procedures thereof, to obtain a final image by displaying a plurality of images read under various image reading conditions and comparing the images. The image reading system includes an image reading device that divides an image into a plurality of areas, reads the plurality of areas and outputs image signals corresponding to the plurality of areas. A reading condition input device sets first and second reading conditions under which the image is read. An image processing device converts an image signal corresponding to a first area, among the plurality of areas, into a first image signal based on the first image reading condition, and converts an image signal corresponding to a second area into a second image signal based on the second image reading condition. A display displays respective images according to the first and second image signals.

Image reading system storage medium for obtaining a final image by displaying a plurality of preliminary images read under various reading conditions

An image reading system that reads long-type film images and displays the images on a monitor screen. The image reading system includes a display method having the capability to effectively utilize, on the monitor screen, all of the image information that is on the film, and which allows easy imaging capability of the final image when changes have been made to the original image. The image reading system creates first image data corresponding to roughly the entire body of the image storage region based on the image signal, and creates second image data corresponding to the image of the image storage region that has been trimmed based on trimming-related information included in the image signal and magnetic information. The image reading system displays the first image corresponding to the first image data and the second image corresponding to the second image data on the display.

Image reading and readout system

An image reading system prescans and/or scans a film with magnetic recording and image data to be stored in a film cartridge after the film is developed. The image reading system employs a one-dimensional CCD and is capable of recording/reading retrievable ID numbers on a magnetic recording part. A thumbnail display simultaneously displays all image and magnetic information of all frames of a film, and selected frames to be scanned can be easily identified and compared after obtaining the image data of such film through prescanning. Magnetic recording-information and image information are rapidly read during prescanning and selected frames are then scanned with more refinement as compared to the coarse scanning of the film during prescanning.

Image reading device and method

An image reading system to easily obtain a desired final image by displaying a plurality of images read under various image reading conditions for a direct comparison, and an image reading apparatus to output image data read under the various reading conditions with a single reading operation, and a memory medium to store the control procedures thereof. The image reading system includes an image reading device to read the image of a document by dividing the image into a plurality of areas and to output image signals corresponding to the plurality of areas. A reading condition input device sets a first and a second reading condition under which the image is read. An image processing device converts the image signal corresponding to a first area, among the plurality of areas, into a first image signal based on the first image reading condition, and converts the image signal corresponding to a second area into a second image reading based on the second image reading condition. A display then displays respective images according to the first and second image signals.

An image input system includes an image input device having a movable carriage and a feeder removably attached to the image input device. The image input device performs a reading action of image information from a source document loaded onto the carriage. The image input device uses a single opening for loading and discharging the film mounts to prevent double loading. The feeder loads the source document onto the carriage during a loading action and discharges the source document from the image input device during a discharging action. A controller controls the operation of the image input device and the feeder. The controller operates a detection system to detect the presence of a film mount remaining in an image input device.

Image input system having an auto-feeder and method

An image reading device and method for producing a uniformly focused light image on a source document includes a document mount, an imaging device, and a drive assembly for moving at least one of the mounting device and the imaging device in a secondary scanning direction. The image reading device includes a control circuit for establishing multiple designated positions on the source document in the primary scanning direction and in the secondary scanning direction and for calculating the focus position from a signal output from the imaging device for the multiple designated positions. A cam member can be provided to adjust the position of the document mount along the optical axis of the light striking the document, a cam surface of the cam member contacting the document mount.

Focus adjustable image reading device for calculating a focus position

A color image scanner and color image scanning method that generates three different colors independently using multiple LEDs and controls the exposure time of a charge coupled device (CCD) and the light emitting time of the LEDs in order to maintain suitable balance and levels for the colors which are generated. A primary timer sets the operation time of the CCD and a secondary timer sets the ON time for each LED. In addition, an LED drive circuit driving the LEDs has two constant current circuits to more evenly read the images of the document to be scanned.

Color image scanner having multiple LEDS and color image scanning method

An image reading apparatus for reading an image on film which uses a shading correction coefficient computation unit for obtaining a shading correction coefficient in order to correct irregularities in image signals of a photoelectric conversion unit, and a quantity of light ratio measurement unit for obtaining the ratio of the quantity of light of each emission color in order to equalize the quantity of light emitted by a light emission unit. The shading correction coefficient and the quantity of light ratio are obtained immediately before reading of a first original medium, and additional original mediums can then be read using the correction coefficients obtained for the first original. Alternately, the shading correction coefficient and the quantity of light ratio can be obtained immediately before reading each original medium.
