A fluorine-containing aromatic derivative is produced by causing a di(haloacyl)peroxide to react upon benzene, a mono-substituted benzene, naphthalene, or a mono-substituted naphthalene thereby introducing an X(CF.sub.2).sub.n -group into the benzene ring or the naphthalene ring.

Method for production of fluorine-containing aromatic derivative

In a process for producing a dicumyl peroxide comprising reacting a cumene hydroperoxide and an .alpha.,.alpha.-dimethylbenzyl alcohol in the presence of an acid catalyst, when a polar solvent exists in the reaction system, the cumene hydroperoxide of the starting material and the dicumyl peroxide of the resulting product are scarcely decomposed.

Process for producing dicumylperoxide

A high concentration of an aqueous potassium hydroxide is reacted with a hydroperoxide, whereby obtaining a potassium salt of the hydroperoxide is obtained. This potassium hydroperoxide salt can be reacted with an acid halide in a homogeneous reaction system in the presence of non-polar organic solvents, thereby obtaining a non-polar organic solvent solution of novel peroxyesters in high concentration and in high yield.
