A spectrophotometer having a light-receiving optical system that images light to be measured from a position for measurement and generates imaged light to be measured; a slit formation including a slit that causes the imaged light to be measured to pass and that generates light to be measured, which travels along a measurement optical path; a grating that diffracts the light to be measured, which travels along the measurement optical path, and generates diffracted light; a sensor that receives the diffracted light and outputs a signal representing a spectral spectrum; and an observation light source that is disposed on an optical path of zeroth light among the diffracted light and that emits observation light toward the grating at a time of observing the position for measurement.

Spectrophotometer

Observation light can be applied to a position for measurement without providing large space in a spectrophotometer, and the position for measurement can be easily known. A slit is disposed at a position optically conjugate with the position for measurement in the spectrophotometer. Light from an object to be measured passes through the slit, travels along a measurement optical path, and is subject to wavelength dispersion by a wavelength dispersing element. An observation light source is retracted outside the measurement optical path at the time of measuring a spectral spectrum. At the time of observing the position for measurement, the observation light source is inserted into the measurement optical path, and emits observation light toward the slit. Alternatively, light from an object to be measured passes through the slit, and is diffracted by a grating. The observation light source is disposed on an optical path of zeroth light. The observation light source emits observation light toward the grating at the time of observing the position for measurement.

A mechanism, of a camera, for surely resetting a microcomputer at time of switching among a plurality of types of power sources. In the mechanism in which a manual operation dial for switching among the plurality of types of power sources is rotated to slide an electrical contact piece over a predetermined electrically conductive/non-conductive pattern so that a desired power source type is selected, an electric conductivity/non-conductivity between an IC and a negative terminal changes, immediately before an electric power across a positive terminal and the negative terminal is changed from &ldquo;ON&rdquo; to &ldquo;OFF&rdquo;, and immediately after the electric power is changed from &ldquo;OFF&rdquo; to &ldquo;ON&rdquo;. In association with the change, the IC outputs a reset signal to the microcomputer of the camera.

A camera has a motor, a camera mechanism driven by rotation of the motor, a detector for detecting the rotation direction of the motor, and a controller for driving the camera mechanism by energizing the motor in such a way that the motor rotates in a forward direction. To stop the motor, the controller energizes the motor in such a way that the motor rotates in a reverse direction and then, in response to a rotation direction inversion detecting output fed from the detector, energizes the motor in such a way that the motor rotates in the forward direction again for a predetermined period of time.

A cartridge holder being movable between a cartridge accommcodating position where it is concealed within a camera body and a projecting position where it is exposed outside the camera body has a lower supporting member at its bottom for driving a film spool in a film cartridge inserted through an opening into the cartridge holder by engaging a lower end of the film spool, and an upper supporting member for engaging an upper end of the film spool. The upper supporting member is moved between its retracted position where it is retracted from the opening of the cartridge holder and its engaged position where it engages the film spool, its movement interconnecting with the movement of the cartridge holder between its cartridge accommodating and projecting positions.

An interchangeable camera system having a waterproof mount mechanism, and a photo-taking lens barrel and camera body used in the interchangeable-lens camera system. A large diameter part 2c which is provided on a lens-side mount surface 2a compresses a sealing member 6 in cooperation with a sealing surface 5c of a camera body 5 so that a gap between the lens-side mount surface 2a and the camera body 5 is sealed by the sealing member 6.

A device determines an aperture value Av and a time value Tv for controlling exposure, on the basis of the detected focal length, the detected image magnification and brightness of an object. First, a type of photography is determined according to the focal length (f) and a image magnification .beta., on the basis of fuzzy logic. Then, a combination of an aperture value Av and a time value Tv which are proper for the so-determined type of photography is automatically determined. The combination can be changed by a manual operation. If the combination is changed, a display showing a depth of field corresponding to the changed aperture value Av is indicated.

Automatic exposure controlling device for a camera

Camera comprises a focus detecting section for performing an object distance measurement, a flash for illuminating the object and controller for control the camera. The flash is activated to emit auxiliary light so as to assist a focus detection when a focus detection is performed by the focus detecting section, and is activated to emit light for illuminating the object during an exposure of photographing. Also, camera is capable of a self-timer photographing, and indicates the self-timer photographing by emitting the flash light during the self-timer operation. The flash light is used both as the auxiliary light for a focus detection and light for indication of the self-timer operation.

Flash-integrated camera

A camera having a built-in electronic flash device and a detachable electronic flash device, provided with a detecting sensor for detecting photographing condition, which judges whether or not a red-eye phenomenon caused by a reflection of flash light on human retinae tends to occur. In accordance with the judgment, activation of both flash devices are controlled.

A photographic camera which comprises an electronic flash unit for firing a flash light for illuminating a target object to be photographed when an image of the target object is desired to be exposed on a light senistive film, a preliminarily flash unit activated prior to the flash light fired by the electronic flash unit to emit a preliminary flash light necessary to cause the pupils of the target object to close, a manipulating unit for selecting a mode in which the preliminarily flash unit is activated, a determining circuit for determining the necessity of the preliminary flash light under a predetermined condition; and a display device for providing, on the basis of a result of determination made by the determining circuit, an indication that the preliminary flash light is necessary.

Photographic camera with flash unit

An IC card suitably adapted to a camera as a small size device and a camera to which such IC card can be mounted appropriately. The IC card is formed as a rectangular plate of a size of about 20 mm.times.30 mm to 40 mm.times.60 mm so that it may be mounted on a camera. Contents of the IC card are or can be indicated on a front surface of the IC card. A plurality of connecting terminals for electric connection to a camera are disposed in a row on a rear surface along an edge of the IC card. A camera for use with such IC card has an IC card accommodating means provided thereon. Where the camera is a single lens reflex camera, the means may be located sidewardly of a pentagonal roof prism accommodating section on the top of the camera and include a lid member for opening or closing a card accommodating section thereof. The means may be located otherwise on the bottom or a rear lid of the camera and include a member mounted for movement between a position accommodated in the camera and another position projecting from the camera.

IC card and camera for use therewith

A camera system wherein a card accommodating device can be mounted on a body of a camera without increasing the overall size of the camera body and without deteriorating the appearance and convenience in use of the camera. The card accommodating device is mounted on the camera body for pivotal motion from and to a position at which it is fitted in a recessed spacing formed rearwardly of a battery accommodating chamber and sidewardly of a take-up spool chamber of the camera body. The card accommodating device at the position forms part of a side wall of the camera body. The card accommodating device comprises an outer lid unit for removably accommodating an IC card therein, and an inner lid unit mounted for movement and releasably arrested on the outer lid unit and having switch elements and electric signal transmitting contacts located thereon.

A depth-of-field preview apparatus for a single lens reflex camera is provided with a display circuit responsive to a preview display signal generated by a control circuit with at least one of first and second switches being closed. The first switch is closed when an operating member is operated to an operated position and opened when the operating member is released to return to a non-operated position under a spring bias. In response to the closure of the first switch the control circuit generates the preview display signal and an electromagnetic device causes a diaphragm stop-down mechanism to stop-down a diaphragm. When the diaphragm is stopped-down to a preset aperture size, another electromagnetic device stops the diaphragm stop-down mechanism to set the diaphragm to the preset aperture size and at the same time closes the second switch. With the second switch being closed the control circuit continues to generate the preview display signal independently of the condition of the first switch, so that a preview display by the display circuit does not cease even if the operating member is released and accordingly the first switch is opened.
