In an RFID system comprising a detection unit for detecting an RFID tag and a control unit for exercising the control concerning the RFID tag, a determination unit determines whether to access a second area of an RFID tag comprising storage area, comprising of a first area for storing ID information and the second area for storing command information. An extraction unit extracts command information from the second area when it is determined to access the second area. An execution unit performs a process corresponding to the command information extracted by the extraction unit.

RFID system and RFID tag

A tag is attached to each piece of a set of goods mounted on a palette, and a tag storing the quantity of goods that should be mounted on the palette is also attached. A reader/writer counts the number of tags attached to all of the goods, reads quantity information of the tags attached to the palette, and determines whether the two are equal or not.

Tag reader

In a mechanism for attaching to a cart an RFID tag used for transmitting and receiving data to and from an RFID reader/writer, a holding pocket retains the RFID tag. The orientation of the pocket is kept constant in such a manner that a surface of the RFID tag from which data can be read highly accurately faces an antenna for the RFID reader/writer while keeping the distance between the RFID tag and the antenna within a certain range regardless of the transfer direction of the cart.

An expansion unit capable of being detachably mounted to an expansion bay of an information processing apparatus, the expansion unit including an imaging device, a moving member moving the imaging device between a state in which the imaging device is stored inside the expansion unit and a state in which the imaging device projects outwardly from the expansion unit, and a member capable of changing a direction in which the imaging device is pointed when the imaging device is extended from the expansion unit, the imaging device being detachable from the expansion unit and supportable in such detached state.

A function-expansion device is detachably connected to electronic equipment to expand functions of the electronic equipment. The function-ezpansion device includes a component unit which provides an extended function of the electronic equipment. A docking station detachably mounts the component unit on the docking station, the docking station connecting the component unit to the electronic equipment. The component unit is detachable from the docking station when the docking station is attached to the electronic equipment which is in an operating condition.

The present invention has an exemplified object to provide an expansion unit and electronic apparatus that may render the electronic apparatus multifunctional while maintaining its compact, lightweight, and low-profile body. To achieve this object, the expansion unit that can be inserted into an expansion unit slot in a portable electronic apparatus is so configured as to partially project from the expansion unit slot.
