A hybrid vehicle includes: an engine configured to output power for traveling; a motor configured to output power for traveling; a switch configured to set a fuel economy priority mode, in which priority is given to fuel economy, and to cancel the fuel economy priority mode; and a controller configured (a) to operate the engine and the motor based on the switch setting; (b) to determine the presence/absence of degradation of fuel supplied to the engine; and (c) to prohibit setting of the fuel economy priority mode by the switch subsequently when determination is made that the fuel has degraded when the hybrid vehicle travels using power of the motor in a state in which the drive of the engine is stopped.

Hybrid vehicle and control method therefor

When the accelerator and the brake pedal are simultaneously depressed, braking occurs with drive force being produced. This increases the amount of heat produced by a friction braking device. Therefore, when the accelerator and the brake pedal are simultaneously depressed (S: Yes), the range of use for a regenerative braking device is increased by expanding the regenerative braking limit (S), thereby decreasing the range of use for the friction braking device, so that the produced heat to be suppressed. As a result, it is possible to simplify the friction braking device and eliminate the need to install a cooling mechanism equipped a high cooling performance.

Vehicle control device

A control apparatus for a vehicle including a three-phase AC motor and a power converter, the control apparatus includes an ECU. In a control apparatus for a vehicle, an ECU includes an operation reception unit that receives depression of a power switch (i.e., a vehicle system activation operation is performed) in a 'ready-off state' as a non-drivable state, and a control execution unit that executes, when the vehicle system activation operation is received by the operation reception unit during running of a hybrid vehicle HV and an engine is started, a startability improvement control for improving startability of the engine as compared with the startability thereof when the vehicle system activation operation is received by the operation reception unit during stop of the hybrid vehicle HV and the engine is started.

An ECU is mounted on a vehicle including an engine and a motor that can generate cranking torque applied to a rotation shaft of the engine. Where a request for starting the engine is not issued, the ECU determines whether the engine is during coasting or not. The ECU changes cranking target torque in accordance with engine rotation speed. In this way, engine rotation speed during cranking can be reduced to and remain in the optimum region where misfire and resonance can be avoided.

A vehicle is provided with a differential gear including a sun gear, a carrier, and a ring gear, motor generators coupled to the sun gear, an engine coupled to the carrier, and a wheel coupled to the ring gear. The vehicle includes an ECU that stops the engine upon operation of a start switch by a driver, and a brake that brakes the sun gear upon operation of the start switch while the vehicle is traveling.

An ECU executes a program including the steps of carrying out low-load control when an IG OFF operation is performed, when a vehicle is running, and when stop of an engine is not permitted, carrying out gate cut-off control, ending low-load control and gate cut-off control when a brake pedal has been operated, when a vehicle speed is lower than a threshold value, or when a prescribed time period has elapsed since the IG OFF operation, permitting stop of the engine, and carrying out fuel cut control.

A control apparatus for a hybrid vehicle includes, as a drive power source, a hybrid system that has an engine and a motor. The control apparatus includes a control unit configured to reduce an output of the hybrid system and maintain or increase an engine rotation speed when a driver performs an accelerator operation and a brake operation simultaneously.

A control apparatus for a vehicle includes a control unit configured to, when accelerator operation and brake operation are simultaneously performed, execute output reduction control that reduces drive power source output, and configured to perform recovery of the drive power source output, when it becomes impossible to certainly determine presence or absence of the brake operation during execution of the output reduction control.
