An electrically actuated free wheel hub apparatus includes an axle tube, a wheel hub arranged about the axle tube and operated in response to the position of a drive transfer mechanism. An electric motor is disposed in a body fixed to the wheel hub and an axle shaft is interior to the axle tube. A control device control transmittal of power between the axle shaft and the wheel hub by a clutch mechanism. A syncromesh device is provided in the drive transfer mechanism so that each rotation of a front wheel side and a rear wheel side can be synchronized and a delay device transmit current to the motor after the completion of synchronizing.

A free wheel hub system comprises a free wheel hub mechanism disposed between a drive shaft and an axle hub supported by a spindle and a flexible print circuit disposed between the inner face of the spindle and the outer face of the drive shaft to control an electric element in the free wheel mechanism.

Free wheel hub system

A free wheel hub system comprises a free wheel hub mechanism disposed between a drive shaft and an axle hub supported by a spindle, an electric motor mounted on a hub body accommodating the free wheel hub mechanism, a brush case mounted on the hub body and accommodating bushes connected to the electric motor, and slip-rings mounted on the spindle and contacting the bushes. The brush case is fixed to the hub body before the hub body is attached to the axle hub.

An electrically actuated wheel hub clutch includes a clutch device. The clutch device alternately engages and disengages a wheel hub relative to an axle shaft. An electric motor actuates the clutch device. An electric circuit delivers electric current to the motor. The circuit includes a brush and a radially aligned slip ring arranged for relative rotation about an axis. The brush and slip ring are carried by respective holders. The brush holder includes at least one radial projection overlapping both the brush and slip ring to prevent relative axial disengagement therebetween.

Electrically actuated wheel hub clutch apparatus

A free wheel hub control system for a free wheel hub mechanism is positioned between a drive shaft and an axle hub supported by a spindle. A flexible printed circuit is disposed between an inner face of the spindle and an outer face of the drive shaft to transmit a control signal to an electric element of the free wheel hub mechanism. A cylindrical collar having contact portions is tightly fitted to the inner face of the spindle to hold the printed circuit in position.

Free wheel hub control system

A free wheel hub clutch for a drive shaft includes an outer casing, an inner sleeve in the casing for connection to the drive shaft, a slidable clutch in the casing for movement between a lock position wherein the clutch is connected therewith, and a free position wherein the clutch is disconnected from the inner sleeve for free rotation with respect thereto. The slidable clutch selectively and alternatively moves the clutch between the lock position and the free position, either mannually or remotely.

Free wheel hub clutch

A free wheel hub clutch device includes a cylindrical body, an inner sleeve, a clutch member, a handle, a cam follower, a first tension spring, a second tension spring, a motor and a control. The control has an electrical charging apparatus and controls the motor which is attached to the free wheel hub clutch device. A sealing member is interposed between a wheel hub and an axle tube. With this construction, it is feasible to change from a two-wheel driving system to a four-wheel driving system and vice versa by manipulating a switch at the driver seat and further to prevent an outflow of grease from a bearing.
