The present invention provides a leader member in a recording tape cartridge that has excellent productivity, even though the leader member is manufactured with stainless steel, a manufacturing method thereof, and the recording tape cartridge. A leader member that is attached to a free end of a recording tape wound around a single reel accommodated in a case and that is pulled out from an opening formed in the case by an pull out member of a drive device is manufactured by metal injection molding of stainless steel.

There are provided a tape reel, a recording tape cartridge, a take-up reel, and a drive device at which, when a recording tape is wound on a hub, fluctuations in an axial direction of the hub can be suppressed and occurrence of tape edge damage can be prevented. At a tape reel having a hub on which a recording tape T is wound and flanges which are provided at both end portions of the hub, a large diameter portion, whose diameter is larger than diameters of both end portion sides of the hub, is formed at the hub. The large diameter portion is offset, from a widthwise direction central portion of the hub, toward the one flange side or the other flange side.

The present invention provides a recording tape cartridge that when loaded in a drive device, generation of abrasion dust from a case can be restrained. There are provided a tape reel and a take-up reel at which it is possible to easily and inexpensively manufacture a hub having, at an outer peripheral surface thereof, a portion whose diameter is larger than diameters of each of the end portions of the hub, and a recording tape cartridge having the tape reel and a drive device having the take-up reel. A recording tape cartridge comprises a single reel at which a recording tape is wound around a hub, a case rotatably accommodating the reel, an opening for pulling-out of a leader member attached to an end portion of the recording tape, and a tape guide which the recording tape slidingly contacts is provided within the case. After the recording tape slidingly contacts the tape guide, the recording tape is taken-up at a drive device, and therefore, traveling of the recording tape is stable. In this way, occurrence of reading errors of servo signals and recording/playback errors of data signals at a drive device can be reduced, even with recording tapes whose recording densities are improved.

The disk tray of a disk casing is provided with an end portion which has an upper surface facing upward flush with a principal surface of the upper lid when the casing is closed, and an end portion of a lower index card inserted in a space between the disk tray and the lower lid is bent upward along an inner surface of the end wall of the lower lid on the side of the axis. A magnetic tape cartridge is equipped with a cartridge, a single tape reel, a tape leader pin, and a U-shaped clip. The spring member is retained by the spring supporting part through the supported part and impels the slide door to the shutting direction side.
