If a still image shooting is instructed during a moving image shooting, the shooting, a timing of the still image is controlled so that a period in which still image data is read out from an image sensor does not overlap with a period in which moving image data is read out from the image sensor. In addition, after the still image data is written into the memory, the still image data is read out and output from the memory during a period in which the moving image data read out from the image sensor is not output.
