There are provided plastic optical components which, in addition to their superior characteristics such as lightweightness, low cost and suitability for mass production, exhibit superior moisture barrier properties while experiencing extremely small changes in refractive index or other optical performance even if they are subjected to the effect of water in the environment; and an optical unit using such plastic optical components. The plastic optical component includes an optical component's body and an inorganic moisture-proof coating which is directly or indirectly formed by a plasma CVD process at least on surfaces of the optical component's body that contact outside air, and the plastic optical component is kept at a temperature of 80&#xb0; C. or lower when the inorganic moisture-proof coating is formed by the plasma CVD process.

Disclosed is a gas barrier film alternately comprising at least one inorganic layer and at least one organic layer on a resin base material having a glass transition temperature of 250&#xb0; C. or higher. This invention provides a color diffusion transfer image forming material comprising a light-sensitive material containing a compound which forms or releases a diffusible dye upon reaction with a developing agent derived from a light-sensitive silver halide, aminopheno derivative or phenylenediamine derivative and an oxidation product of the developing agent supported on a first support, and a dye-fixing material containing a discoloration preventing agent having a specific structure supported on a second support which may be the same as or different from the first support, wherein the light-sensitive material and the dye-fixing material are located so that the diffusible dye formed or released by developing is at least transferred from the light-sensitive material to the dye-fixing material in developing the light-sensitive material, thereby providing the image forming material with excellent properties in terms of dye concentration, image fastness and the like.
