A control apparatus sets a value of the field current command and a value of the armature related command in accordance with drive information and the setting information stored in the storage unit; the value of the field current command and the value of the armature related command correspond to the obtained drive information. The control apparatus controls a field current flowing through the field winding to the set value of the field current command, and controls a current flowing through the armature winding or a voltage applied to the armature winding to the set value of the armature related command.

Apparatus for controlling rotary electric machine

A control apparatus for a rotary electric machine includes at least one of a first corrector and a second corrector. The first corrector corrects a first command voltage as a function of a deviation between a command value for a field current and an actual value of the field current. The second corrector corrects a second command voltage as a function of a deviation between a command value for a d-axis component of an armature current and an actual value of the d-axis component of the armature current. At least one of the first corrector and the second corrector makes the d-axis component of the armature current and the field current non-interfere with each other.

Control apparatus for rotary electric machines

A rotation angle detection apparatus includes a magnet that is provided to a rotating shaft of a rotating body and rotates with the rotating shaft to generate magnetic flux and a magnetic sensor that is provided at a distance from the magnet and detects a magnetic flux interlinked with the magnetic sensor. The rotation angle detection apparatus has a magnet magnetic flux detection circuit that detects a magnet magnetic flux generated from the magnet, a disturbance magnetic flux detection circuit that detects a disturbance magnetic flux, which is a magnetic flux other than the magnet magnetic flux and is interlinked with the magnetic sensor, and a correction circuit that corrects a result of detection of the magnetic sensor based on a result of detection of the magnet magnetic flux detection circuit and a result of detection of the disturbance magnetic flux detection circuit.

Rotation angle detection apparatus

A correction circuit stores data for obtaining coefficients of a relational expression indicating a relationship between a disturbance magnetic flux and a rotational angle error. Then, the coefficients are obtained from the data for obtaining the coefficients, and a detection result of a magnetic sensor is corrected based on the coefficients obtained, a relational expression, and a detection result of a disturbance magnetic flux detection circuit. Since it is possible to obtain the rotational angle error with respect to the disturbance magnetic flux from the coefficient obtained and the relational expression, it is not necessary to store the data indicating the relationship between the disturbance magnetic flux and the rotational angle error for all of the disturbance magnetic flux value in disturbance magnetic flux regions that may be applied.

Rotational angle detecting device

In a power converting device, a controller determines a combination pattern of a first energization pattern for the first set of the at least one-phase winding and a second energization pattern for the second set of the at least one-phase winding. The first and second energization patterns respectively include at least a first energization duration for the first set of the at least one-phase winding and a second energization duration for the second set of the at least one-phase winding. The controller supplies a drive pulse signal, whose on duration is based on the determined combination pattern, to the switch to thereby control on-off operations of the switch.

Controller and control method for rotary electric machine

A rotating electrical machine has a rotor having a field winding and a stator having an armature winding. A control device adjusts a field current flowing in the field winding and an armature current flowing in the armature winding. The armature current flowing in the armature winding is expressed by using a current vector having a d-axis current and a q-axis current in a d-q coordinate system. In a case in which the control device increases the d-axis current to generate a magnetic flux in a direction which is opposite to a direction to generate a magnetic flux by a field current, the control device gradually reduces the d-axis current during a predetermined period of time after increasing the d-axis current in the direction opposite to the direction to generate the magnetic flux by the field current.

A vehicle-mounted electric rotating machine includes a field winding wound on a rotor for magnetizing a field pole of the rotor, a stator winding for generating an AC voltage in accordance with a rotating magnetic field generated by the field pole, a power converter for converting the AC voltage to a DC voltage and outputting the DC voltage through a first power supply line connected to an output terminal thereof, and a load dump handling section for performing a load dump protection operation when a voltage of the output terminal of the power converter exceeds a threshold voltage. An off-timing fault determiner determines a fault of an off-timing of a target switching element as one of the high-side switching element and the low-side switching element set by the off-timing setter when a time interval from the off-timing of the target switching element set by the off-timing setter to time when a phase voltage corresponding to the target switching element reaches a threshold after the off-timing thereof is shorter than a preset value.

Vehicle rotary electric machine capable of safely starting synchronous rectification

In a vehicular rotary electric machine, a switching section includes a bridge circuit having plurality of upper arms and plurality of lower arms. The arms include switching elements. A diode is connected in parallel to each switching element. One end of the switching element of each of the upper arms is connected to a positive terminal of a battery and one end of the switching element of each of the lower arms is connected to a negative terminal of the battery via a vehicle body. The switching section rectifies induced phase voltage of an armature winding. A section sets ON-timing of the switching elements. A section sets OFF-timing of the switching elements. When the switching element of each lower arm is OFF, a detector detects an energization period in which current flows to the diode. A calculator calculates a rotation frequency based on the detected energization period.

Rotary electric machine for vehicles

A generator has a field coil of a rotor, an armature coil of a stator, a control device supplying an exciting current to the field coil when detecting rotation of the rotor, and a control circuit alternately setting an upper arm transistor and a lower arm transistor in on state in a rectifier module to generate a phase voltage. The control device detects the rotation from a periodic change in a sign of the difference between the phase voltage and a reference voltage. When the rectifier module is overheated, the control circuit sets the upper arm transistor in the off state and sets the lower arm transistor in the on state to almost fix the phase voltage, the control device detects no rotation and stops supplying the exciting current, and the rectifier module generates no phase voltage to decrease temperature of the rectifier module.

A vehicle-use electric rotating machine includes a switching section having upper and lower arms each constituted of a switching element parallel-connected with a diode to rectify an AC voltage induced in each phase winding of the electric rotating machine, an on-timing setting section for setting an on timing of each of the switching elements, an off-timing setting section for setting an off timing of each of the switching elements such that, when a time period from when a phase voltage of the phase winding reaches a first threshold value to when the phase voltage reaches a second threshold value different from the first threshold value is referred to as a conduction period, a time period in electrical angle from when the switching element is turned off to when the conduction period ends is equal to a target electrical angle set depending on the rotational speed of the electric rotating machine.

In a rotary electric machine, a load-dump protector turns on a switching element as a low-side rectifying element for at least one of plural-phase stator windings when the output voltage exceeds a first threshold voltage due to load dump. The load dump protector determines a turnoff timing of the switching element as the low-side rectifying element for the at least one of the plural-phase stator windings after the output voltage, which exceeded the first threshold voltage once, falls below a second threshold voltage. The second threshold voltage is set to be lower than the first threshold voltage. The load dump protector turns off, at the determined turnoff timing, the switching element as the low-side rectifying element for the at least one of the at least two-phase stator windings.
