A cassette comprises a housing portion configured to have a placement face on which sheets are placed and to house sheets; and a standing wall configured to constitute a portion of the housing portion, and to regulate sheets on a back end side in a conveyance direction of sheets to be conveyed from the placement face to a printing apparatus, wherein the standing wall includes a protrusion that protrudes toward the placement face at a position above a predetermined position, which is at a height of sheets that can be stacked on the placement face.

A cassette comprises a storage portion configured to include a loading surface on which a sheet is loaded, a sheet guide configured to pivot with respect to a pivot central axis that is parallel to the loading surface, a pivot support shaft extending on two sides of the sheet guide along the pivot central axis, in the sheet guide, and a bearing portion configured to pivotably support the pivot support shaft, an insertion portion formed at a portion of the pivot support shaft, an insertion groove formed from the loading surface toward the bearing portion, and a flexible pressing portion disposed outside the insertion groove, and configured to press a leading end portion of the pivot support shaft.

A printing apparatus includes: a tank configured to contain ink; a print head configured to eject ink supplied from the tank; a supply flow path through which liquid is supplied from the tank to the print head; a collection flow path through which liquid is collected from the print head to the tank; a circulation unit configured to circulate ink inside a circulation flow path including the tank, the supply flow path, the print head, and the collection flow path; and a cooling unit configured to cool the tank by blowing.

Printing apparatus

A recording apparatus includes a recording unit configured to record an image on a recording medium, a discharge unit, a tray, and a side portion. The discharge unit discharges the recording medium in a discharge direction. The recording medium discharged by the discharge unit is stacked on the tray. The side portion regulates the recording medium stacked on the tray in a direction intersecting the discharge direction. The side portion is provided with an exhaust vent hole including an inclined portion for upwardly exhausting air from an inside of the recording apparatus to an outside of the recording apparatus.

Recording apparatus

A cap sheet metal (and pivot sheet metal) is configured to be able to move linearly with a cap arm (and an arm stay) via engagement between an engagement hole and a fitting shaft. Furthermore, the cap sheet metal (and the pivot sheet metal) can move pivotally with respect to the cap arm (and the arm stay) using the fitting shaft, which engages with the engagement hole, as a pivotal shaft. Thus, even if, for example, the direction of biasing toward the applying roller deviates or a positional relationship with the applying roller deviates slightly, the liquid holding member moves and pivots in the bias direction depending on the deviation. As a result, the contacting pressure of a contacting portion on the applying roller can be made uniform.

Inkjet recording apparatus and method for cleaning carriage

An object of the present invention is to provide a liquid applying apparatus that enables the viscosity of a liquid to be applied and the condition of supply of the liquid to be detected using conventional mechanisms and without the need for a viscometer or the like, thus allowing prevention of improper application of the liquid to a medium and mitigation of wear of an applying roller or the like, the apparatus having an inexpensive configuration. Thus, according to the present invention, a driving load on an applying roller driving motor is detected when an applying roller is driven. If the driving load is equal to or more than a preset threshold, an operation of re-supplying the liquid is performed by a pump, or an operation of the roller driving motor is stopped.

There is provided a liquid application apparatus capable of performing stable application without providing a new mechanism, by efficiently removing an application liquid increased in viscosity and fixedly adhered to an abutting portion between an application member and a liquid supplying member. A liquid application apparatus includes an application member that applies a liquid supplied to an applied face to a printing medium by rotating an application roller and a liquid holding member that abuts against the applied face to form a liquid holding space for holding the liquid, and the amount of liquid that is held in the liquid holding space and makes contact with the application member in unit time is larger before an applying operation for applying the liquid to the printing medium than in the applying operation.

An image reading and recording apparatus has: a carriage for mounting a recording head; a reading unit which reads an original document; a conveying roller arranged on a conveying path which is used in common for recording paper and the original; and a platen arranged so as to face the recording head. A sheet feeding device includes a guiding member having an upper guiding surface for guiding the upper surface of a document and a lower guiding surface for guiding the lower surface of the document to guide the document to a support portion. The guiding member is movable to a set position for guiding the document to the support portion without causing the document to come into contact with a feeding roller, a recording-sheet separation position withdrawn for separating one sheet from the other recording sheets and feeding the separated sheet, a document separation position for guiding the document to the feeding roller, and a sheet return position for returning the recording sheet or the document to a corresponding support portion using a return lever. The guiding member is held via a spring such that the guiding member can be returned by itself from the sheet return position to the set position.

An image forming apparatus has an image reading portion provided in an upper portion of an apparatus body on the side of its front surface, an optical signal generating portion provided in rear of the image reading portion, an image forming portion disposed downwardly of the optical signal generating portion, a fixing portion provided in the vicinity of a lower portion of the apparatus body on its front surface side, a sheet discharge portion, disposed between the image forming portion, the optical signal generating portion and the image reading portion, to which to discharge the record sheet onto which a toner image is fixed by the fixing portion, and an opening/closing cover rotated integrally with the image reading portion and the sheet discharge portion. When the opening/closing cover is opened, the image forming portion is exposed and a part of a sheet carry path extending from the fixing portion to the sheet discharge portion is made open. It is therefore possible to easily replace and repair the parts of the image forming portion and also operate a jam treatment of the record sheets.

Image forming apparatus

A sheet feeding apparatus has a sheet container which contains sheets and is removably mounted to a main body of the sheet feeding apparatus, a separation device including a conveyer and a separation member are urged against the conveyer with a predetermined separating pressure to separate the sheets fed out from the sheet container one by one, and a pressure increasing unit for increasing contact pressure between the conveyer and the separation device above the predetermined separating pressure. The pressure increasing unit increases the contact pressure until the mounting of the sheet container to the body of the sheet feeding apparatus is completed so that, even if the sheet container is inserted into the sheet feeding apparatus vigorously, the sheets are prevented from entering between the conveyer and the separation member, thus preventing poor sheet separation.
