A method for producing a weather strip including an extrusion molded extrusion molded portion, an injection molded portion which is formed by a molding device having a plurality of mold members and connects both ends of the extrusion molded portions in a straight line shape, a mounting base portion which is mounted on a circumferential edge of an opening of a body or a circumferential edge of an opening/closing member for opening and closing the opening, and a hollow sealing portion which protrudes from the mounting base portion, and is pressed against an opposite member when the opening/closing member for opening and closing the opening is closed.

Weather strip and production method thereof

A weather striphas a trim portionand a hollow seal portion. The trim portionis made up of an external sidewall, a bottom walland an internal sidewallto thereby be given a substantially U-shaped cross section. A first flange holding lipis formed on an interior surface of either of the external sidewalland the internal sidewallso as to be positioned on an opening side of the trim portion, a second flange holding lipis formed on the interior surface of the same sidewall so as to be positioned on a bottom wall side of the trim portion, and opposite flange holding lipsare formed on an interior surface of the other of the external sidewalland the internal sidewallso as to be positioned between the first flange holding lipand the second flange holding lipwhile extending therefrom.

Weather strip

A glass run includes a main body portion including a base bottom portion, a vehicle exterior side wall portion and a vehicle interior side wall portion attached along an inner periphery of a door frame and seal lips extended to an inner side of the main body portion and an entire region in a longitudinal direction thereof is formed by extrusion. The base bottom portion and the vehicle exterior side wall portion and the base bottom portion and the vehicle interior side wall portion are respectively connected by deformed connecting portions. The deformed connecting portion is thin-walled more than the base bottom portion and the two side wall portions and constitutes substantially a J-like shape in a section thereof to provide a predetermined length in a width direction. At two corner portions of the glass run, the deformed connecting portions are deformed by being folded to bend at fold points, the base bottom portion is smoothly disposed on an inner peripheral side, and is continuously bent without providing a slit or a notch.

Glass run and its attaching structure

A door weather strip includes a base attached along the outer periphery of a door frame and a hollow seal, and a clip attached to the base. The clip includes an engaging part fit in and enagageable with an attaching hole in the door frame and a retained part retained to the base. The retained part includes a retaining piece and a coupling portion coupling the center area of the retaining piece in the longitudinal direction and the engaging part. Using an inserting means equipped with an insertion pin which is nearly cylindrical and sharp-pointed, the insertion pin is pierced into the base so that the retaining piece is fed through the inner peripheral side of the insertion pin to the inner face side of the base, thereby attaching the clip to the base.

Weather strip and method for manufacturing the same

An insert member which is made of a material which is harder than a material forming a molded portion of a glass run which is mounted on an inner side of a sash is provided relative to a bottom portion of the molded portion. The insert member is provided with an insert body, and a projecting portion which is projects from the insert body toward the sash and is fitted in a hole in the sash so as to be locked in place therein. A part of an entire edge of a distal end portion of the projecting portion, which extends in a longitudinal direction of the molded portion is chamfered. In addition, a surface of the insert body facing the sash and at least a peripheral wall portion of the projecting portion are covered with a covering portion which is made of the material forming the molded portion.
