A unit-type heat exchanger for use as a condenser in motor vehicle air conditioners and an oil cooler for various oils use in motor vehicles. An oil coolerand a condenserare arranged one above the other and assembled into a unit. Each of these componentshas two pipelike headersarranged in parallel to each other at a spacing, and a plurality of parallel exchange tubesjoined at opposite ends thereof to the two headers. The adjacent oil coolerand condenserhave ends thereof positioned in proximity to each other and connected to each other by connectors. Each of the connectorsis provide at opposite sides thereof with respective recessed portionsfor opposed ends of the headersto be fitted therein, and these header ends are fited in the respective recessed portionsand joined to the connector. The unit-type heat exchanger is adapted to prevent mixing of the fluids flowing inside the oil coolerand the condenser, respectively.

Unit-type heat exchanger

A heat exchanger includes a pair of hollow headers, a plurality of tubes communicated with the headers, corrugated fins disposed between adjacent tubes and at an outside of an outermost tube and a side plate disposed at an outside of an outermost corrugated fin. The header insertion end portion of the side plate is formed into the same or approximately the same cross-sectional peripheral configuration as that of an end portion of the tube, and the side plate fitting aperture is formed into the same configuration as that of the tube fitting aperture. This becomes unnecessary to form a special fitting configuration at the end portion of the side plate, and moreover the workability for forming the side plate fitting apertures and the tube fitting apertures can be enhanced, resulting in enhanced productivity, which in turn can reduce the manufacturing cost.

Heat exchanger

This refrigeration system is an orifice-tube system constituting a refrigeration cycle in which a refrigerant passes through a compressor a condenser an orifice-tube an evaporator and an accumulator in this order and then returns to the compressor The condenser is constituted by the so-called multi-flow type heat exchanger having a plurality of passes P -P The intermediate pass P is constituted as a decompression pass for decompressing the refrigerant. After condensing the refrigerant by the first pass P the condensed refrigerant is decompressed and evaporated by the decompression pass P and then the evaporated refrigerant is re-condensed by the third pass P This refrigeration system is excellent in response characteristic to thermal load fluctuations and in refrigeration performance.
