This invention realizes synthesis of an image of an original document (an original image) with a separate image composed of a row of characters. The possibility that the original image and the separate image will overlap each other when the original image is printed on a sheet is precluded by the present invention using a procedure which comprises comparing the size of the sheet with the size of the original image (size of sheet&gt; size of original image) and shifting (adjusting) the position for printing the original image or, when necessary, further contracting the original image or the separate image so that the separate image may be contained by way of synthesis in the part of a margin of the sheet appearing as the difference between the size of the sheet and the size of the original image prior to the printing of the original image on the sheet.

Image reading apparatus

Image reading apparatus which compares margin width outside image area

In an image reader a frame image of a microfilm is projected on a line sensor with a projection lens and read. The projection lens is movable in the main scanning direction by a driving motor. The line sensor is movable in the subscanning direction by a driving motor. The line sensor is moved in the subscanning direction to apply preliminary scanning and detect positional deviation in the main scanning direction of the projected image, and the projection lens is moved in the main scanning direction corresponding to quantity of the positional deviation. When the frame image is inclined, it is rotated relatively to the main scanning direction by a prism to correct the inclination, and the projection lens is moved in the main scanning direction thereafter to correct positional deviation in the same direction.

Image reading apparatus which corrects for positional and angular

An image projecting system is disclosed which is provided with a carrier part disposed in an optical path between a light source and an image receiver such as, for example, a screen and a sensitive medium and adapted to be loaded with a microfilm. Inside the image projecting system, masking members for adjusting the range of the optical path are fitted. These masking members rotate around the optical axis of the optical path. Even when an image happens to be photographed aslant in the microfilm, only a stated area of the image is projected on the image receiver.

Image projecting system

An image projecting system for irradiating a microfilm with light emitted from a light source and projecting an image recorded on the microfilm onto an image receptor such as a screen or a photosensitive drum, the image projecting system having a masking unit which is mounted in the body of the system removably. The masking unit contains a first masking portion which is for changing the range of the image advancing toward the image receptor through an optical path, in a first direction of the microfilm, and a second masking portion which is for changing the range of the image in a direction approximately perpendicular to the said first direction. These masking portions are disposed in close proximity to the microfilm. Thus, a desired range of the image recorded on the microfilm can be projected on the image receptor and the outer peripheral edge of the projected image is made sharp and clear by the above masking portions. Normal operation and other operations for maintenance can be done easily by removing the masking unit from the system body.

A microfilm projecting apparatus for projecting an image of a microfilm on a screen and projecting the same on a photoreceptor, the microfilm projecting apparatus including a reflector movably provided between a first position out of an image projecting light path and a second position in the image projecting light path. The image projecting light travels to the screen when the reflector is at the first position. The reflector moves from the first position to the second position along a plane including the reflecting surface thereof and reflects the image projecting light to the photoreceptor at the second position. A detector is arranged for detecting the density of the image by receiving the image projecting light reflected by the reflector while the reflector is moving from the first position to the second position.

Microfilm projecting apparatus

This invention concerns an image processing system whichis constructed by combining a plurality of image readers for electrically reading an image and producing corresponding image data and printing means provided with sorting means for sorting and stowing sheets carrying formed images into a plurality of discharge paper bins and adapted to form an image on sheets based on said image data received from said image readers. In accordance with this image processing system, the operator is enabled to associate a given sheet bearing an image formed in accordance with an image signal read out by any of the image readers with the particular image reader which has produced the image signal as the source of the image on the sheet. The image processing system, therefore, enhances the efficiency of the operator's work in a great measure.

Image processing system

An image reader is disclosed which is provided with a screen for an image recorded on a microfilm to be projected thereon and a photoelectric transferring element for transforming the image into electric signals. In a light path originating in a light source and reaching the photoelectric transferring element, a beam attenuating filter for attenuating the luminous energy of the beam of light exposed on the photoelectric transferring element is disposed and used for decreasing the difference in the illuminance of the light source during the reader mode for causing the image to be projected on the screen and during the transforming mode for causing the image to be exposed on the photoelectric transferring element. The illuminance of the light source is controlled by the variation of the intermittent frequency of the voltage applied to the light source. While the operation is proceeding in the transferring mode, the illuminance of the light source is controlled with the aforementioned intermittent frequency falling within the range of sonic frequency so as to permit variation of the illuminance of the light source in a multiplicity of stages. While the operation is in this mode, the sound of the movable components of the device being operated for scanning cancels the noise generated within the range of sonic frequency.

Image reader

This invention concerns an image processing system which is constructed by combining a plurality of image readers each adapted to read an image electrically and produce image data as output and a printing means for producing the image on a recording medium based on the introduced image data. During the course of transfer of an image signal from the image readers to the printing means, the image processing system automatically delays the actuation of the image readers when the mode of prohibiting the transfer of image signal exists, whereas the image processing system automatically actuates the image readers immediately after the mode of prohibiting the transfer of image signal changes to the mode of permitting the transfer.
