A blood pressure measuring apparatus, which measures a blood pressure of a living body, includes: a cuff-pressure control unit which controls a cuff pressure of a cuff that presses a part of the living body; an oscillation signal detection unit which detects an oscillation signal from the cuff pressure; a blood pressure specification unit which specifies systolic and diastolic blood pressures as the blood pressure of the living body from the oscillation signal; and a blood pressure determination unit which determines whether systolic and diastolic blood pressures are appropriate or not. The cuff-pressure control unit controls the cuff pressure to be inflated to a first set value, the blood pressure specification unit specifies the systolic and diastolic blood pressures based on a change of an oscillation signal that is detected by the oscillation signal detection unit when the cuff pressure is inflated to the first set value, and when the blood pressure determination unit determines that both the systolic and diastolic blood pressures are appropriate, the cuff-pressure control unit ends the inflating of the cuff pressure to release the cuff pressure.

A blood pressure measuring apparatus which measures a blood pressure in a step of gradually changing a cuff pressure adapted to press an artery, includes: a pulse wave detecting unit; a pulse wave interval measuring unit; a waveform information storing unit; a change trend calculating unit; a waveform information comparing unit; and a determining unit which, when first two of the pulse waves, which are successively detected at different cuff pressures, satisfy a predetermined condition: that a magnitude relationship between the amplitudes of the first two of the pulse waves is consistent with the change trend of the first two of the pulse waves; that the pulse wave interval between the first two of the pulse waves is within a predetermined range; and that the waveform information of the first two of the pulse waves approximately coincide with each other, determines that the amplitude of latter one of the first two of the pulse waves is to be used for calculating the blood pressure value.

Blood pressure measuring apparatus and blood pressure measuring method

A biological signal measuring apparatus includes: a light emitter which emits at least two light beams having different wavelengths to living tissue of a subject; a light receiver which receives the light beams that are emitted from the light emitter, and which converts at least one of the light beams to at least one electric signal that corresponds to a reception light intensity of the at least one of the light beams; a detector which detects temporal variation of the reception light intensity from the electric signal; a selector which selects a pulse oximeter mode in which at least one of an oxygen saturation and a pulse rate is calculated and a capillary refilling time measurement mode in which a capillary refilling time is calculated; and a calculator which, based on the temporal variation of the reception light intensity, performs a calculation in the mode selected by the selector.

Biological signal measuring apparatus and biological signal measuring method

Light beams of different wavelengths, emitted from a light generating device, are transmitted through a living tissue. The transmitted light beams are converted into electrical signals by a photoelectric transducing device. A pulsation calculating device calculates a pulsation of an absorbance of tissue of a living tissue for each wavelength on the basis of the output signal of the photoelectric transducing device. By using this, a pulsation ratio calculating device calculates the ratio of the pulsations of the absorbance values. A concentration calculating device puts the output signal of the pulsation ratio calculating device into a formula having a single unknown on the tissue term, which is constructed on the basis of the fact that a predetermined relation is present between the tissue terms of the respective wavelengths, thereby calculating a value of the tissue term and the concentration of light absorbing material in blood.
