There is provided an information processing apparatus comprising: a storage unit configured to store a plurality of process modules including a first process module for performing an embedding process by which information is embedded in image data; a setting unit configured to set a condition for performing the embedding process by the first process module; and a controlling unit configured to control a workflow in which one or more processes respectively performed by the process modules, including the first process module, are sequentially performed; wherein the first process module performs the embedding process under the set condition in response to detecting that image data input to the first process module in controlling the workflow is in a preset image format.

A distribution apparatus includes a reception part that receives first data and a request for execution of a process according to a process definition formed of one or more units of processing with respect to the first data, and one or more processing parts that execute the corresponding one or more units of processing. At least one processing part is a distribution part that distributes, to a distribution destination specified in the process definition, the first data or second data output as a result of execution of a unit of processing executed before a unit of processing corresponding to the at least one processing part. The distribution part distributes the first or second data based on information indicating a distribution method for the specified distribution destination defined in the process definition, when the specified distribution destination is included in multiple distribution destinations to which a communications protocol is common.

An information processing apparatus includes an acquisition unit that acquires a reading condition on a document; a first generation unit that reads, in accordance with the acquired reading condition, the document including a first area in which information-holding images containing readable information and each having a different color overlap each other, and generates image data; a second generation unit that reads data contained in the generated image data and corresponding to the first area, and generates the information-holding images having the respective different colors from values of color components contained in each pixel of the read data; and an execution unit that reads the information contained in each of the generated information-holding images, and executes processing based on the read information.
