A hair clipper includes, in addition to a cutter head, a hair entrapping member and a hair pressing member which are both movable relative to a cutting edge of the cutter head. The cutter head comprises a toothed stationary blade and a toothed movable blade. The movable blade is driven to reciprocate in shearing engagement with the stationary blade for shearing hairs therebetween. The hair entrapping member is movable between an open position and a closed position. In the open position the hair entrapping member is spaced away from the cutting edge of the cutter head, thus permitting hairs to enter between the hair entrapping member and the cutting edge. In the closed position, the hair entrapping member is held close to the cutting edge to thereby seize the hairs therebetween for shearing the hairs. The hair pressing member is also made movable relative to the hair entrapping member between a pressing position of holding the hairs against the hair entrapping member forwardly of the cutting edge and a release position of being spaced away therefrom. The hair pressing member is interlocked with the hair entrapping member such that the hair pressing member comes into the pressing position before the cutting edge comes into the closed position, whereby the hairs can be pressed against the hair pressing member prior to being sheared by the cutting edge.

Hair clipper

A hair cutter having a cutter head with a cutter comprising a toothed stationary blade and a toothed movable blade which define a cutting plane between toothed edges thereof. The movable blade reciprocates relative to the stationary blade in hair shearing engagement between the toothed edges with the movable blade defining a cutting edge at its leading toothed edge. Disposed at the front end of the cutter head is a pair of first and second hair pressing members with respective hair contacting edges. The first hair pressing member is formed to have a number of comb slots arranged in parallel with the toothed edges of the movable blade with the comb slots defining at their bottom ends the hair contacting edge. The first and second hair pressing members are located on the opposite sides of the cutting plane, respectively to have the individual hair contacting edges spaced across the cutting plane in such a manner that the cutting edge of the cutter is positioned on or rearwardly of a line connecting the hair contacting edges of the first and second hair pressing members. The hair contacting edges of the first and second hair pressing members are cooperative to hold the hairs at spaced portions along the length of the hairs so as to keep the thus held hairs out of shearing contact from the cutting edge, thereby permitting the cutting edge to cut only the hairs which flex toward the cutting edge, these being hairs which have slipped away from one of the hair contacting edges.

Hair cutter

A clipper comprises an elongated handle grip 10 and a cutting head 20 which has an outer shearing foil 22 and an inner cutter assembly 40 driven to rotate in engagement with the undersurface of the outer shearing foil 22 for clipping the entangled fiber strands from the surface of a fabric. The cutting head 20 has a center axis which is perpendicular to the general top plane of the shearing foil 22 and about which the inner cutter assembly 40 rotates. The cutting head 20 extends forwardly from the one longitudinal end of the handle grip 10 with its center axis angled at an obtuse angle with respect to the longitudinal axis of the handle grip 10. A recovery chute 60 is provided along the front face 11 of the handle grip 10 for recovering the clipped fiber strands from within the cutting head 20. The chute 60 has a tapered front surface 61 which tapers from its one end adjacent the cutting head 20 towards the opposite end such that the front surface 61 of the chute 60 is increasingly spaced from the general top plane of the cutting head 20 towards its end remote from the cutting head 20 along the length of the handle grip 10.

Hand-held clipper for removing entangled fiber strands from the surface

A hair clipper has cutter head comprising a set of a stationary blade and a movable blade each having teeth in its forward edge. The movable blade is driven to reciprocate on the stationary blade for hair shearing. The hair shearing can be operated selectively at either of hair cutting, hair trimming, and hair thinning modes which are characterized to have respective effective hear shearing zones of different capability optimum suitable for the intended modes.

An electric hair clipper includes a hair thinning comb attachment detachable to a housing provided with a cutter assembly. The comb attachment is formed with a row of hair guiding slots which is in parallel and juxtaposed relation with the cutting edge of the cutter assembly for guiding the hair past the cutting edge in the process of hair thinning operation. A rotary adjustor dial is mounted on the housing and is drivingly connected to the comb attachment for varying the relative position of the comb attachment to the housing and therefore the distance between the row of the hair guiding slots and the cutting edge, thus adjusting the cutting length of hair intended by simple manipulation of the rotary adjustor dial.

A novel comb attachment for use with a hair clipper is disclosed herein. The comb attachment is adapted to fit over the front portion of the hair clipper including a cutter assembly having an elongated cutting edge. The cutter assembly comprises a movable cutter reciprocating with respect to a stationary cutter, these cutters defining therebetween a cutting plane. Formed in the front end of the attachment is a series of spaced comb teeth the row of which is in close and parallel relationship with the cutting edge of the cutter assembly for guiding hairs into the cutting edge. Each of the comb teeth is formed at the location above the cutting plane with at least one barb projecting on its side and upper faces to define therebehind a rearwardly oriented shoulder. These shoulders act as stoppers for the clipped hair strands which have been sheared and fed rearwardly of the cutting edge when advancing the hair clipper through a user's hair for a continuous hair cut. Accordingly, the clipped hair strands can be well prevented from gliding back to the tips of the comb teeth and into the cutting edge during the advancing movement of the hair clipper, whereby assuring a smooth cutting action which is free from the reentry of the clipped hair strands in the cutting edge, while retaining a smooth combing action by the comb teeth.

Comb attachment for a hair clipper

A hair cutter for thinning hair which includes a stationary blade, a movable blade, a comb member adjacent to either the movable blade or stationary blade, and a hair pressing member disposed on the side of either the stationary blade or movable blade where the comb member is not located. This arrangement permits hair to be thinned easily and accurately even when used by individuals lacking a barber's hair cutting skill.
