When the product gas producing operation is stopped, a stand-by operation is executed in which a product gas filling up a reforming processing unit is circulated, in a state in which an adsorbent of adsorption towers is maintained in a state in which adsorption target components are desorbed, and the heating of a reformer by a heating burner is maintained, and when the stand-by operation is stopped and the product gas producing operation is started, initial operation processing is executed in which immediately after the start, a source gas and steam are supplied to the reformer to produce a reformed gas, and the reformed gas from the reforming processing unit supplied to the adsorption towers to produce the product gas, and then the product gas producing operation in which the product gas is collected in a product gas tank is executed.

At a center portion of a ceiling wall of a furnace body having a lateral wall between the ceiling wall and a bottom wall, there is a burner that combusts downwards. A reforming reaction tube is provided in a circumference of the burner to carry out a steam reforming treatment on a source gas. A discharging portion is an opening at an upper side portion of the lateral wall for discharging combustion gas of the burner. A cylindrical outer wall is disposed at an outer side portion of the lateral wall. In an outside space formed between the lateral wall and the outer wall, there is a steam generating heat exchanger generating steam or a mixture gas of a source gas and steam. At a lower side portion of the outer wall, there is outside discharging opening discharging the combustion gas which flows through the outside space.

Reforming furnace

When a product gas producing operation is stopped, a purge operation is executed in which steam purge processing and product gas purge processing are sequentially performed. The steam purge is supplying, instead of a source gas, a product gas from a product gas tank to a reformer using a compressor, and supplying a reformed gas from a reforming processing unit to a plurality of adsorption towers, which perform a pressure swing adsorption operation, while the reformer is heated by a heating burner and steam is supplied to the reformer. The product gas purge is supplying the product gas from the product gas tank to the reformer using the compressor, and supplying the product gas from the reforming processing unit to the plurality of adsorption towers, which perform the pressure swing adsorption operation, while the supply of the steam is stopped and the heating of the reformer is maintained.

A pressure swing adsorption type hydrogen manufacturing apparatus includes a process control unit that controls operation of adsorption towers that generate a product gas by adsorbing, using adsorbents, adsorption target components other than hydrogen components from a source gas, in a state where an adsorption process, a pressure-equalization discharge process, a desorption process, and a pressure-restoration process are successively repeated. The process control unit is configured to control operation of the adsorption towers in such a manner that a prior pressure-equalization process is performed in an initial stage of a unit processing period, a subsequent pressure-equalization process is performed in a final stage of the unit processing period, a pressurization process of introducing a product gas to perform pressurization is performed, as the pressure-restoration process, subsequently to the prior pressure-equalization process, and the pressurization process is performed while overlapping with the subsequent pressure-equalization process.

Pressure swing adsorption type hydrogen manufacturing apparatus

Provided is a method for operating a fuel gas manufacturing device for stopping the operation in such a manner that the operation can be immediately resumed, while keeping facilities from becoming complex. When stopping the operation while supply of source gas to a desulfurizing unit is stopped, after supply of source gas to the desulfurizing unit and discharge of fuel gas to the outside are stopped, a standby operation process is performed in which fuel gas is circulated by a circulation driving unit in such a manner that the whole amount of fuel gas passed through a moisture removing unit is circulated through a circulation gas path to return to the desulfurizing unit and the circulated fuel gas is heated by a heating unit to a set standby temperature to heat a reforming unit to a temperature that is equivalent to an operation temperature at which reforming is performed, and supply of water vapor is continued in a state where a supply amount of water vapor is at least an amount with which carbon deposition due to thermal decomposition of fuel gas can be prevented and is smaller than an amount that is supplied when reforming is performed.
