A swash plate compressor including a cylinder block accommodating a piston for compressing a refrigerant, a front housing coupled to the front of the cylinder block and having a crank chamber, a rear housing having a suction chamber and a discharge chamber and coupled to the rear of the cylinder block. The swash plate compressor includes a valve assembly with a valve plate inserted into the rear housing, a gasket in the cylinder block, a suction plate between the valve plate and the cylinder block, a variable orifice module having a first orifice hole for refrigerant passing, a second orifice hole communicating with the suction chamber to discharge the refrigerant passing through the first orifice hole to the suction chamber, and an intermediate passage connecting the orifice holes, the first orifice hole having a variable reed, a degree of opening of which is varied depending on the refrigerant pressure.

Swash plate compressor

A swash plate compressor includes a cylinder block accommodating a piston for compressing a refrigerant, a front housing coupled to the cylinder block and having a crank chamber, a rear housing having a suction chamber and a discharge chamber and coupled to the cylinder block, and a suction reed plate inserted between a valve plate and the cylinder block. The swash plate compressor includes: a first orifice hole through which the refrigerant in the crank chamber passes; a second orifice hole communicating between the first orifice hole and the suction chamber; an intermediate flow path configured to connect the first orifice hole and the second orifice hole; and the valve plate inserted into the rear housing and having a suction chamber pressure-maintaining space connected to the suction chamber and configured to maintain a pressure equal to a pressure in the suction chamber.

Disclosed is a suction damping case. A refrigerant introduced into the suction damping case flows for a predetermined period of time at reduced pressure and speed, and then is discharged to the outside of the body, so that a damping function can be made. When the suction damping case is coupled to a rear housing, a hook and an embossing prevents the suction damping case from being separated.

A swash plate compressor including a cylinder block accommodating a piston for compressing a refrigerant, a front housing coupled to the front of the cylinder block and having a crank chamber, a rear housing having a suction chamber, a discharge chamber and coupled to the rear of the cylinder block. The swash plate compressor includes a valve assembly including a valve plate inserted into the rear housing, a gasket inserted into the cylinder block, a suction plate inserted between the valve plate, the cylinder block, and a variable orifice module including a first orifice hole through which the refrigerant in the crank chamber passes, a second orifice hole communicating with the suction chamber to discharge the refrigerant passing through the first orifice hole to the suction chamber, and an intermediate passage interconnecting the first and second orifice holes, the first orifice hole having a variable reed, a degree of opening of which is varied depending on the pressure of the refrigerant.

Disclosed herein is a valve assembly for a variable swash plate compressor. Since an opening hole of a suction reed is enlarged toward a suction port of a valve plate and refrigerant is also introduced into a cylinder bore through the opening hole when the suction port is opened, performance of a compressor may be enhanced by an increase in flow rate.

Provided is a variable capacity swash plate type compressor. The variable capacity swash plate type compressor includes: a cylinder block; a front housing; a rear housing; a valve; a driving shaft; a rotor; a swash; an elastic; and a plurality of pistons, wherein at least one step portion perforating the rotor and the driving shaft, communicating the crank chamber and the refrigerant communication passage, and protruding toward its inner face so that a cross-section of the at least one step portion is reduced in a direction of the refrigerant communication passage from the crank chamber toward an inner face of the step portion, is provided, and at least one oil separation passage in which oil is centrifugally separated from a refrigerant gas flowing inside the driving shaft as the driving shaft rotates is formed.

A compressor that inhales refrigerant gas from an external refrigerant circuit, compresses the inhaled refrigerant gas and discharges the compressed refrigerant gas, comprising a cylinder block having a plurality of bores, and a suction muffler chamber having a suction port connected to an external refrigerant circuit installed on the outer circumferential surface of the cylinder block, a front housing coupled to the front side of the cylinder block and forming a crank chamber, a driving shaft supported so as to freely rotate with respect to the cylinder block and the front housing, a single-headed piston connected to a slanting plate element mounted on the driving shaft and linearly reciprocating inside the bores of the cylinder block, and a rear housing connected to and closing the rear side of the cylinder block, having a discharge chamber and a suction chamber, and having two or more suction chamber connecting passages at an upstream side of the suction chamber.

A compressor that sucks refrigerant gas from an external refrigerant circuit, compresses the sucked refrigerant gas and discharges the compressed refrigerant gas, comprising a cylinder having a plurality of bores, a front housing coupled to the front side of the cylinder and forming a crank chamber, a driving shaft supported so as to freely rotate with respect to the cylinder and the front housing, a single-headed piston connected to a slanting plate element mounted on the driving shaft and linearly reciprocating inside the bores of the cylinder, and a rear housing coupled to and closing the rear side of the cylinder. In the compressor, the rear housing comprises a discharge chamber provided at the center of the interior of the rear housing, so that the refrigerant gas discharged from the cylinder remains in the discharge chamber before being discharged to the external refrigerant circuit, a suction chamber provided so as to surround the discharge chamber, so that refrigerant gas sucked from the external refrigerant circuit remains in the suction chamber before being moved to the cylinder, and a pulsation pressure reduction conduit provided at the rear side of the rear housing, having an inlet led to the discharge chamber and an outlet led to the external refrigerant circuit, and extending in a radial direction of the rear housing, and wherein the inlet of the pulsation pressure reduction conduit through which the discharged gas of the discharge chamber passes is positioned at a distance at which the pressure pulsations of the discharged gas at the respective discharge holes are substantially equal.

A swash plate type compressor used for the air conditioner of an automobile is presented. The compressor has a structure where pulsation pressure caused when refrigerants are compressed and discharged is reduced, thereby permitting noise at the time of driving to be substantially reduced. The compressor can embody the structure by distributing and discharging refrigerant that has been compressed by a plurality of pistons and discharged from a plurality of bores into at least two discharge holes, wherein a frequency of the pulsation pressure is increased in proportion to the number of the discharge holes, but the strength of the pulsation pressure is decreased in inverse proportion to the number of discharge holes. Therefore, the driving noise of the compressor that is formed in proportion to the strength of the pulsation pressure is considerably decreased.

Disclosed herewith is a structure for supporting a swash plate at the maximum tilt angle in a swash plate type compressor. A support projection is formed at a predetermined position of the front surface of the swash plate to define the maximum tilt angle by coming into contact with the rotor of the compressor. When a connecting line passing through the center of a bore, into which a piston in the maximum compression stroke state is inserted, designated by LC, the support projection is situated on an acting line LP, which is spaced apart from the connecting line LC by a predetermined horizontal distance LF in the rotational direction of the swash plate, so as to define the maximum tilt angle of the swash plate.

Structure for supporting a swash plate at the maximum tilt angle in a variable displacement swash plate type compressor

A method of manufacturing a hollow piston for variable displacement swash plate compressors of air conditioning systems is disclosed. This method produces a desired hollow piston by separately forming a body and a cap and by simply machining the body and the cap prior to simply welding the body and the cap together into a single structure through a frictional welding process. This method thus remarkably simplifies the pre-welding machining process. In the frictional welding process, the body and the cap are welded together into a single structure by simply and relatively rotating the body and the cap while forcing them toward each other under atmospheric air at room temperature. The frictional welding process is thus accomplished using a simple welding machine, thereby reducing the equipment cost while producing the hollow pistons. The frictional welding process is also free from oxidizing the welded portions of a resulting hollow piston, and so the resulting piston does not have micro pores in its structure. The hollow pistons, produced by the method of this invention, thus have a high durability and are free from reducing the refrigerant compressing efficiency of a compressor.

Method of manufacturing hollow piston for compressors

A method for machining a pair of shoe pockets for piston in a swash plate type compressor is disclosed. In this method, the shoe pockets are respectively formed on the opposed walls of the slot in the piston of the compressor while conforming to a single imaginary sphere. The method comprises the step of moving a cutter provided with an arc-shaped cutter blade that has a rotation diameter less than the width of the slot. Thereafter, there is performed the step of relatively revolving the cutter with regard to the piston by allowing the central axis of a revolved part to move along a circular orbit within the slot while rotating the cutter, so as to cut the shoe pockets to conform to the single imaginary sphere. Finally, the step of retreating the cutter out of the slot when the cutter completes one round revolution and is returned to its initial position is performed.
