An apparatus for and a method of transmitting a graphic signal generated by a graphic signal generation unit to a display unit. Compressed transmission data is generated according to a result of a comparison of a current graphic signal with a previous graphic signal and the transmission data is modulated together with predetermined header information. A reception interface unit restores the optical signal into the transmission data and header information and regenerates a graphic signal by decompressing the restored transmission data based on the header information. The transmission rate of data is reduced by the compression/decompression of the a graphic signal. Error correction encoding is provided to find and correct the error of data generated during transmission. A signal interference between channels, a delay of inter-channel transmission and electromagnetic radiation, which are generated by an electrical transmission method, are prevented. Apparatus for and method of transmitting optical signal of graphic signal

A disk cartridge includes a case to accommodate a disk, and a shutter installed in the case to move under the disk, and to selectively open/shut an opening hole formed in the case. The disk cartridge includes a support portion to protrude from the shutter to support a non-information area of the disk. Thus, since the shutter contacts only the non-information area of the disk, the information area of the disk is protected during an operation of the shutter to open and shut the opening hole.

A high density disc having a data area which is set such that compatibility is secured in the same drive while maintaining a superior recording/reproducing feature, is disclosed. The high density disc has a center hole, a clamping area, a data area where user data is recorded, a lead in area located at the inner side of the data area, and a lead out area located at the outer side of the data area. In the high density disc in which the diameter of the center hole is 10 mm or more, the inner diameter of the clamping area is characteristically within a range of 20&#x2013;26 mm. Also, the inner diameter of the data area is characteristically within a range of 35&#x2013;40 mm. Therefore, while a conventional disc drive is still used, the size of the high density disc decreases and a recording capacity can be increased.

A disc cartridge includes a shutter unit having an outer shutter and inner shutters to open and shut apertures on the disc cartridge. The outer shutter opens one of the inner shutters corresponding to a side of the disc cartridge being accessed by a pickup. Accordingly, the overall area of the apertures exposed to the exterior during information recording and reproducing operations is reduced. Accordingly, dust is less likely to enter into the disc cartridge.

A disk cartridge accommodating a disk includes a case receiving the disk and having openings. A shutter opens and/or closes the openings, where the openings deviate a predetermined distance from a middle position of the case toward one side.

A disk cartridge includes a case which contains a disk, and a shutter which opens/closes at least one opening formed in the case. The shutter is configured to be foldable around upper and lower surfaces of the case, and slides on the upper and lower surfaces of the case to open/close the opening. Since the shutter opens/closes the opening while being folded around the upper and lower surfaces of the case, a movable distance of the shutter for opening/closing the opening can be fully accommodated even though the size of the disk cartridge is reduced. In addition, applying the configuration of the shutter to a double-sided disk cartridge prevents an inflow of dust from entering into the double-sided disk cartridge since the shutter closes an opening, which is not in use, during a recording/reproducing operation.

A display connection structure of an electronic appliance is disclosed. The display connection structure includes a main body; a display for receiving an image signal from the main body and displaying an image; a connection unit including hinge pins rotatably installed at the main body, and housing provided at the display so as to be connected to the hinge pins and to pivot together with the hinge pins for detachably connecting the display to the main body; and an optical connector having portions provided at the main body and the display to correspond to each other for transmitting an image signal by light.
