A shield advancing machine, comprising cutting tools (15) rotatably supported on cantilever arms (13, 14) being rotatable around an axis approximately extending in advancing direction and being swivellable in transverse direction to this axis, has a carrier (4) which is guided and supported in axial direction of the shield (1). A rotation drive (22, 33) for a rest (9) of the cantilever arms (13, 14) is provided on the carrier (4), and the cantilever arms (13, 14) as well as their swivel drive (16, 17) are linked to the rest (9).

Shield advancing machine

A movable cutting machine is subdivided into a front portion (1) and a rear portion (2) of the cutting machine, which portions are swingable around an approximately vertical pivotal axis (10) and are secured against a relative displacement in direction of this pivotal axis (10) by means of two joints (11, 12). The front portion (1) of the cutting machine has a caterpillar chassis (3) and carries a swivelling means (5) comprising as the cutting means a cutting arm (6) and two cutting heads (7). The rear portion (2) of the cutting machine has, as a support means against ground, equally a caterpillar chassis (4) and carries auxiliary equipment and/or a section of a conveying trough (13) equipped with a chain conveyer.

Movable cutting machine

A movable device (1) for openpit mining has a plurality of excavating hammers (11) on a cantilever boom (2) being swivellable in height direction. For facilitating the continuous excavating work and for providing an adaptability to the varying angles of inclination encountered in openpit mining, at least part (23) of the carrier (6) or the carrier (6) itself is shiftable in transverse relation to the longitudinal axis (7) of the cantilever arm (2), so that on downward swivelling movement of the cantilever arm (2) in direction of the arrow (17) the whole carrier (6) or at least part (23) thereof can be shifted in transverse relation to the longidudinal axis (7) of the cantilever arm by a hydraulic cylinder-piston-aggregate (8), thereby maintaining a predetermined angle of inclination or angle of repose.

Movable device for openpit mining

A method and apparatus for controlling the movement of a universally swivellable cutting arm of a partial cut cutting machine of the kind including a first hydraulic drive for lifting and lowering the cutting arm in order to preselect the depth of cut and a further hydraulic drive for swivelling the cutting arm transversely relative to the direction of lifting movement and lowering movement, wherein the time interval elapsed for actuating one of the drives and/or the volumetric amount of pressurized fluid supplied to each of the drives is measured and wherein, in dependence on the desired preselected depth of cut and after having attained the time interval of actuating one drive required for the preselected depth of cut or after having attained the volumetric amount for the displacement in direction of the preselected depth of cut, supply of pressurized fluid to the first drive is closed and only the supply of pressurized fluid to the further drive is released.

Process for controlling the movement of a universally swivellable

The device for intermittently subjecting axially shiftable bits of a cutting head to the action of pressurized fluids comprises bit holders in which the bits are supported for a limited movement in axial direction. The bits are subjected to the action of a percussion piston which is intermittently supplied with pressurized fluid. A distributor 6 is provided for intermittently supplying pressure and includes a bushing-shaped distributing slide valve 18. The distributing slide valve 18 is provided in its mantle surface with radial perforations 22 which can be brought in alignment with passages 7 of a cutting head 3. There is provided an interpositioned gearing comprising a sun wheel 13, intermediate gear wheels 11 bearingly supported on a carrier 10 fixed for not being rotatable and a hollow gear wheel 15 non-rotatably connected with the cutting head 3. The bushing-shaped distributing slide valve 18 is non-rotatably connected with the sun wheel 13 being rotated in this manner by the cutting head 3, noting that the distributing slide valve 18 is rotated in a sense opposite to the sense of rotation of the cutting head 3. Supply of water is effected via an intermediate piece 20 into an axial water supply bolt 9 from which the water is intermittently supplied to the percussion pistons within the bit holders via the perforations 22 of the distributing slide valve 18.

Device for intermittently subjecting axially shiftable bits of a cutting

A process for controlling the movement of a universally swivellable cutting arm of a partial cut, cutting machine, comprising a first hydraulic drive for lifting and lowering the cutting arm, and a second hydraulic drive for swivelling the cutting arm transversely to the lifting and lowering direction, consistent at the end of the advancing movement of the cutting head in one direction or both directions. The respective other drive is, in particular, when having attained the nominal profile, simultaneously supplied with pressurized fluid. Conveniently, a predetermined volumetric amount of pressurized fluid is pressed into the other drive on occasion of a reversal of the cutting direction. A control device for performing this process includes a stepped piston, which can be subjected to the action of pressurized fluid at times via a centrally arranged working chamber and at times via a separate annular chamber having a greater radius, and comprises controllable valves which selectively connect the centrally arranged working chamber of the stepped piston at that side of the stepped piston which is located opposite the inlet for pressurized fluid with a drive of the cutting arm acting in a direction being different from the direction of action of the other drive, being simultaneously supplied with pressurized fluid, for the cutting arm.

Process for controlling the movement of an universally swivellable

For protecting partial-cut cutting machines from overload, a vibration sensor 7 is provided on the swivellable cutting arm 2 carrying rotatably supported cutting heads 6. The signals of the vibration sensor 7 are utilized in an electronic control 8 and used for controlling the pivotal drive of the cutting arm 2. The electronic control 8 has a threshold switch which is connected with an adjusting drive for varying the supply capacity of the hydraulic pump of the pivotal drive.

Protecting device for partial-cut cutting machines

For reducing the risk of any overheating when cutting or crushing rock by means of a partial cut cutting machine and for facilitating crushing or, respectively, cutting of the material, a pressurized liquid, for example water, is intermittently sprayed within an area facing the area to be excavated. Said mentioned area facing the area to be excavated is realized in connection with a cutting head by providing within a range of center angle of the rotating movement of the cutting head a plurality of radial perforations (18) adjoining an axial bore (8) for the supply of pressurized fluid, noting that this range of central area corresponds to that area which faces the area to be excavated or, respectively, the mine face. Radial channels (22) of the cutting head coincide during rotation of the cutting head (1) with the radial perforations (18), said channels feeding the pressurized liquid to the exit openings provided on the periphery of the cutting head (1). The radial perforations (18) are arranged within a center angle of less than 180.degree., preferably 120.degree. to 150.degree., and with predetermined rotating speed of the cutting head (1) this provides the possibility to realize preferred ejection frequencies between 10 and 20 Hz.

Process for spraying the bits and/or the facing with pressurized liquid

For supplying a pressurized cooling liquid to the outlet openings in a cutting head, there is provided an axial supply bore (3) opening into a distributing chamber. Radial passages (11) are provided which open into the distributing chamber and lead to the outlet openings at the periphery of the rotating cutting head. The distributing chamber is designed as a space coaxially surrounding the axial bore (3), being closed at its front side and having its mantle stationary arranged. At least two radial bores (9, 10) of opposite radial direction adjoin this annular space and are displaced in axial direction of the bore (3). The cutting head is sealingly guided on the non-rotating mantle of the annular space.

Arrangement for supplying a pressurized liquid to a rotating machine part

For the supply of water to nozzles on the circumference of a cutting head there are, within a cutting head (1) composed of individual discs (2), provided bores (14 respectively 16) extending in direction to the axis of rotation of the cutting head (1). The individual annular discs (2) are connected one with the other by welding, the weld beads extending over a radial area (a) of the cutting head which is greater than the diameter (b) of the bores (14 respectively 16). The bores (14 respectively 16) extend through the weld beads (19) (FIG. 2).

Cutting head for drift advancing machines and process for producing same

The cutting head (1) has passages (14, 16; 22) extending through the cutting head in axial direction thereof and being connected with the axial water supply bore (8) by radial bores (9). Radial bores leading to the outlet nozzles open into the passages (14, 16; 22) extending through the cutting head in axial direction thereof. The passages (14, 16; 22) extending through the cutting head in axial direction thereof can be closed at at least one side by means of detachable closure members (15), so that these passages (14, 16; 22) extending through the cutting head in axial direction thereof can, after having removed the closure members, be cleaned by means of a cleaning-rod.

Cutting head for drift advancing machines

For cutting rock by means of cutting head (1) having its bits (24) cooperating over a limited axial shifting stroke (a) with a cylinder-piston-aggregate, for example a valve (18), it is proposed to intermittently subject the cylinder-piston-aggregate to the action of pressurized fluid, thus exposing the bit (24) during its engaging the rock to percussion forces. During the phases lacking any action of pressurized fluid onto the cylinder-piston-aggregate, the bit (24) shall be pushed into its starting position. This embodiment can be realized with both hydraulic and pneumatic cylinder-piston-aggregates, noting that in case of an embodiment having a hydraulic cylinder-piston-aggregate it is preferred to design this cylinder-piston-aggregate as a valve (18) which simultaneously provides the possibility to expel pressurized liquid via a spraying nozzle (32) onto the mine face. Apparatus for cutting rock

A bit holder equipped with a spraying device, comprising a receiving bore (2) in which the bit shaft (3) is supported, for limited axial shifting movement and optionally for being rotated, shifting movement of the bit shaft (3) in direction of the cutting pressure being limited by abutment (5) and the bit shaft being loaded by a return force in opposite direction to the cutting pressure and a valve (10, 11) for the supply of water to the bit or to the working or drift face during cutting operation being arranged within the bit holder (1) and being opened under the action of the cutting pressure by the axial shifting movement of the bit shaft (3). The valve housing (9) is inserted into the receiving bore (2). The rear end of the bit shaft (3) acts directly on the shaft (12) of the valve cone (10). Within the mantle of the receiving bore (2) and in front of the valve housing (9) there are provided passages (16) through which contaminations entering into the receiving bore (2) along the bit shaft (3) can be discharged in outward direction before they can arrive at the valve seat (11). The shaft (12) of the valve cone (10) is preferably guided within the valve housing (9), so that contaminations are rinsed in outward direction through the passages (16) by the leakage water flowing therethrough.
