A system for ejecting tips of sampling pipettes, the system comprising: —a button for ejecting a tip which is intended to be moved in translation by an operator's thumb; —a tip ejection device; and —return spring for returning the tip ejection device to a raised position. According to the invention, the system also comprises a lever for controlling the ejection device, the control lever comprising: —a first end which is intended to be fitted onto a part of the pipette; —a second end cooperating with the eject button so as to be acted upon by the latter; and —an intermediate portion for actuating the ejection device.

A device for locking a volume adjustment screw for a pipetting system, comprising a control member which rotates as one with a position selector, the member cooperating with a locking wheel such that: when the selector is in the free adjustment position, the member ensures that the wheel is axially spaced from another wheel, such that the teeth of the wheels do not cooperate with each other; when the selector is in the fine adjustment position, the member allows the wheel to move away from and then to move axially towards the other wheel while transitioning from one tooth to another; when the selector is in the locking position, the member axially locks the wheel to prevent the teeth from being disengaged.

This disclosure concerns a pipette system with an interchangeable volume counter. Aspects of the pipette body design and external dimensions allow various functional features of the pipette system, and, thus, various interior adjustment part designs and dimensions, to be accommodated in a single pipette body design. A three-digit volume counter, a four-digit volume counter, or an electronic counter can be installed in the same pipette body design.

Pipette

A pipette is provided. The pipette includes a body, a piston, and a valve. The body includes a nozzle, a first chamber, a second chamber, and a channel formed in the nozzle. The first chamber is isolated from the second chamber, and the channel is isolated from the first chamber and the second chamber. The piston is mounted to slide within the first chamber and the second chamber so that movement of the piston simultaneously increases a first volume of the first chamber and decreases a second volume of the second chamber. The valve is in communication with the first chamber, the second chamber, the channel, and an exterior of the body to selectively provide a communication between the first chamber and the channel, between the second chamber and the channel, between the first chamber and the exterior of the body, and between the second chamber and the exterior of the body.
