A computer-implemented method for optimizing a mission of an aircraft, the aircraft having a predefined flight plan between a starting point and an arrival point, the flight plan comprising a set of waypoints. The method comprises steps of: calculating, for the aircraft, a reference trajectory between the starting point and the arrival point, the reference trajectory comprising a set of segments and of intermediate points linking the segments of the reference trajectory; defining a search area in the reference trajectory between an initial position and a final position to be reached for this area; determining, in the search area, all possible shortcuts between the initial position and the final position, a shortcut being able to take into account any type of point, points of the flight plan and/or intermediate points of the reference trajectory; and identifying the combination of shortcuts corresponding to an optimum path according to an optimization criterion, the optimum path optimizing the mission of the aircraft in the search area.

Device and method for managing aircraft systems

Device and method for calculating estimated navigation performance prediction

A method of optimizing a flight plan of an aircraft used in a flight management system of an aircraft is disclosed. This method makes it possible to constrain the real cost index of the mission executed to the optimal cost index CIpredetermined by the aircraft operator, by acting on objectives ETAand EFOBof values of ETA and of EFOB to be achieved. Objectives are linked to this optimal cost index, in order to make the system return from a cost index CIto the optimal cost index CI, while taking account of various constraints imposed by the ATC or the CTFM. Both constraints minfluence the cost index and constraints which limit the field of possible solutions.

Method of optimizing a flight plan

A method for assisting an aircraft to rejoin a flight plan is disclosed. The flight plan is composed of a number N of flight segments (LEG, i&#x2282;[1, N]) with a flight segment LEGbeing defined by a departure end (WPT) and by an arrival end (WPT). A navigation mode is termed 'managed mode' wherein, the aircraft has momentarily left the managed mode and has deviated from the flight plan after passing through a waypoint (WPT, p&#x2282;[1, N]), the aircraft occupying a position (PPOS) and seeking to rejoin the flight plan so as to follow it in managed mode. The method comprises a step of evaluating the separation distance (D, i&#x2282;[p+1, N]) between the position (PPOS) of the aircraft and each of the waypoints (WPT, i&#x2282;[p+1, N]). The local minima of the distance between the position (PPOS) of the aircraft and the waypoints (WPT, i&#x2282;[p+1, N]) of the flight plan is determined.
