The invention relates to a filter cartridge () for a liquid such as fuel, said filter cartridge being intended to be positioned inside a filter housing () and comprising a filter media () defining an inner volume (V), a lower end plate (), and an upper end plate (), including a liquid passage opening (O), which communicates with the inner volume of the filter media. The upper end plate () includes an automatic degassing valve ().

The filter element includes a filter medium having an axis and forming a channel extending substantially axially, a first and a second end plate, each end plate covering one axial end of the filter medium and being sealingly mounted on the axial end whereby a liquid to be filtered can flow through the filter medium towards the channel and out of the filter element through an opening in fluid communication with the channel, or reversely. The filter element includes a protrusion fixedly secured to the first end plate and extending outwardly from the first end plate, the protrusion being substantially tubular and having a through hole in fluid communication with the first end plate opening, the protrusion forming a female coupling piece of a male-female connector, and a locking member capable of releasably locking a male coupling piece of the male-female connector in the female coupling piece.

This flow regulation device comprises a housing () having an inlet port () and an outlet port (), and a fluid flow conduit () between them, a valve body () mounted in the housing (), and a first () and a second () orifices allowing fluid flow in the conduit (). The valve body () is movable between an open position, in which the first and second orifices () are open, and a closed position, in which only one () of the first and second orifices () is open. The flow regulation device () comprises a resilient element () urging the valve body () towards its open position, and the valve body () passes from its open to its closed position under action of fluid pressure (P) entering in the inlet port ().

The invention relates to a fuel supply system for an internal combustion engine comprising:&#x2014;a low pressure fuel pump ();&#x2014;a low pressure supply circuit () through which fuel is delivered by the low pressure pump () to one or several high pressure circuits (), said low pressure supply circuit () comprising at least one delivery connection () for delivering fuel to the high pressure circuit(s) ();&#x2014;a pressure regulator () through which excess fuel from the low pressure supply circuit () is discharged through the pressure regulator () in a pump return circuit () which is fluidically connected to an input () of the low pressure pump () without passing through the fuel tank (); characterized in that the pressure regulator () is located downstream of the delivery connection (), and in that a fuel derivation circuit () is fluidically connected to the low pressure fuel supply circuit () downstream of the at least one delivery connection () to the high pressure circuit(s) and upstream of the pressure regulator ().
