A muffler, for an internal combustion engine exhaust system, includes a muffler housing () with a housing jacket () elongated in a housing longitudinal axis (A) direction and with an outer panel () connected to the housing jacket at both axial end areas thereof to define a muffler interior (). An inner panel () is arranged in and divides the muffler interior. A muffling unit () includes an exhaust-gas-carrying inner pipe (), an outer pipe () enclosing the inner pipe and muffling material () arranged between the inner pipe and the outer pipe. The inner pipe is accommodated in an opening () of an inner panel and in an opening () of one of the outer panels or of an additional inner panel. The outer pipe is permanently connected to the inner panel or/and to one of the outer panels or to the additional inner panel.

Muffler

An exhaust gas mixer arrangement for mixing exhaust gases of an internal combustion engine with an additive comprises an exhaust gas flow duct () with an inlet area () arranged upstream and with a discharge area () arranged downstream. The exhaust gas flow duct () is bent in a coil-like manner at least in some areas between the inlet area () and the discharge area ().

Exhaust gas mixer arrangement

An injection section () of an exhaust system for an internal combustion engine, with a channel () for guiding an exhaust gas flow (), with an injection port (), laterally on the channel to which a liquid or gas injector () can be connected, and with an injection chamber (), formed in the channel in the area of the injector port. The chamber is defined by a perforated, first flow through partition (), arranged in the channel upstream of the injector port relative to the exhaust gas flow and, and by a perforated, second flow through partition, arranged in the channel downstream of the injector port relative to the exhaust gas flow. Improved mixing and/or evaporation is achieved with the perforation portion of the first partition generating at least two partial exhaust gas flows (), which form two mutually opposite flow swirls ().
