Method for detecting at least one critical defect in a ceramic rolling element providing the steps of capturing a plurality of two-dimensional digital radiographic images of the ceramic rolling element; digitally filtering each radiographic image; delineating, on the basis of the filtered image, at least one region liable to comprise the critical defect; constructing stereoscopically a virtual model of the ceramic rolling element having the region; comparing the dimensions of the delineated region with a plurality of predetermined threshold values, and, when the dimensions are greater than the threshold values, generating an alarm signal.

A process for manufacturing a hollow roller of a roller bearing including steps of: machining an outer radial cylindrical surface, with a circular cross section centered on a first axis, and machining an inner radial cylindrical surface with a circular cross section centered on a second axis. These two steps are realized on the same lathe. The hollow roller is provided with the outer radial cylindrical surface, with a diameter of at least 5 mm, and the inner radial cylindrical surface. An offset between the first axis and the second axis, measured in the hollow roller between two axial surfaces of the hollow roller, is less than 2 &#x3bc;m, and an inclination angle between the first axis and the second axis is less than one minute of angle. The roller bearing comprises amongst others, at least one such hollow roller.

A device for injecting a fluid into a mechanical system that may undergo heating, comprising at least one body containing a thermally triggered charge generating combustion gas, ignition of the charge being able to be triggered under the action of an ignition command and/or under the effect of a heat contribution, from a heating area of the body toward the charge, a reservoir containing the fluid, means for fastening the device to the mechanical system, the fastening means adapted to put the reservoir in fluid communication with the mechanical system, and means for delivering pressurized fluid outside the reservoir through the action, directly or through intermediate means, of the combustion gases. Within the device, the fastening means comprise at least one injection sleeve provided with an outer thread coated with an anti-loosening adhesive film. The invention also relates to a mechanical system equipped with at least one such device.

A signaling device for signaling heating in a mechanical system susceptible to undergo contact heating during operation. The signaling device includes a body containing a thermally triggered charge generating combustion gas, ignition of the charge able to be triggered under the effect of a predetermined heat contribution, from a heating area of the body toward the charge, or under the action of an ignition command, a reservoir containing a fluid, and delivery means delivering pressurized fluid outside the reservoir through the action, directly or through an intermediate member moving in the reservoir, of the combustion gases. The signaling device also comprises at least one visual signaling element for visually signaling combustion of the charge, the visual signaling element being visible at an outer peripheral area of the signaling device after combustion of the charge. The invention also relates to a mechanical system equipped with at least one such signaling device.
