A process for the production of resist prints under reactive dyes on textile materials which consist of cellulose fibers or a blend of cellulose fibers with other fibers, using reaction products of bisulfite adducts of aldehydes of 2 to 6 carbon atoms, or of ketones, with ammonia, primary amines or secondary amines in the molar ratio of from 3:1 to 1:1 as resists. Preferably, reaction products of a bisulfite adduct of acetaldehyde and ammonia in the molar ratio of from 3:1 to 1:1 are employed as resists. Because of the high stability of the resist print pastes, high color yields of the resist dye and satisfactory, reproducible resist effects of the ground dye are achieved.

Resist printing process

A process for the transfer printing of fabrics containing or consisting of cellulose fibers, by using transfers, wherein the fabric is impregnated with aqueous solutions of compounds which are both solvents for the transfer dyes and potential crosslinking agents for cellulose, dried and printed by the transfer process, in the presence of a cross-linking catalyst, applied from a transfer, with sublimable dyes or optical brighteners.

Transfer printing of cellulosic fabrics and transfer for use therein

An improved process for dyeing or printing water-swellable cellulosic fibers and mixtures of said cellulosic fibers with synthetic fibers by contacting the fibers throughout with a dye liquor or print paste which contains, as essential ingredients, water in an amount sufficient to swell the cellulosic fibers, a water-insoluble disperse dye and a water-soluble solvent for the disperse dye such as polyethylene glycol or boric acid esters of polyethylene glycols, and heating the contacted fibers to fix the dye, the improvement comprising the addition of from 0.5 to 5% by weight, based on the dye liquor or print paste, of a condensate of an aliphatic monocarboxylic acid of from 8 to 20 carbon atoms and a primary or secondary hydroxyalkylamine of up to 6 carbon atoms, which condensate may be ethoxylated with up to 20 moles of ethylene oxide per mole of condensate.
