The invention is directed to a method for operating a pitch-controlled wind turbine having a rotor blade adjustable about its longitudinal axis and having a generator wherein a set-point for a generator torque (M) is specified in dependence upon a rotational speed (n) of the generator or of the rotor. A transition point (n, M) is provided whereat a switchover occurs from a part-load operation to a full-load operation. In the method, a value for air density (&#x3c1;) is determined and a pre-pitch angle (&#x3c6;) is set starting at a pre-pitch rotational speed (n) less than the rotational speed (n) at the transition point (n, M). The value of the pre-pitch angle (&#x3c6;) is dependent on the value determined for the air density (&#x3c1;) so that a larger pre-pitch angle is set when the air density is lower than when the air density is higher.

Method for operating a pitch-controlled wind turbine, in which a set-point value for the generator torque (M) is prescribed in dependence upon a rotational speed (n) of the generator or of the rotor. A transition point (n, M) is provided at which a transition from a partial-load operation to a nominal-load operation occurs. A control of the rotational speed takes place by adjusting the blade pitch angle for a set-point value (M) from the transition point. The values (n, M) of the transition point are determined in dependence upon a current value of the air density. With falling air density, the rotational speed (n) is increased and/or the set-point value for the generator torque (M) is reduced.

The present invention is related to a rotor blade for a wind energy plant, with a blade root, with a first longitudinal portion starting from the blade root, with a second longitudinal portion, following up the first longitudinal portion and running into a blade tip, with a first surface, facing a tower of the wind energy plant in its assembled state, and a second surface, facing away from the tower of the wind energy plant in its assembled state, wherein an imaginary reference plane is spanned up by a rotation, taking place in the operation of the rotor blade, of the longitudinal axis of the first longitudinal portion around the rotational axis of a rotor of the wind energy plant carrying the rotor blade which prevents collisions of the blade tip with the tower of the wind energy plant.
