The present disclosure relates to a modular system for producing drives, in particular piece goods conveyor drives, with different drive properties, comprising at least one first group of transmission units, said first group comprising at least one transmission unit, at least one second group of motor units, said second group comprising at least one motor unit, and a third group of electronic units, said third group comprising at least one electronic unit for actuating the motor unit, wherein the groups can be combined together in order to produce the drive.

An improved drum motor, preferably electronically commutated, features a unitary stationary central shaft () supporting a stationary inner stator (), and an external rotor (), including permanent magnets (), secured to an inner surface of a generally cylindrical rotatable casing part (). This permits variable speed operation while avoiding any need for an internal gear linkage. Safety is improved by making sealing plates () at respective axial ends of the casing () stationary, and providing an annular peripheral seal () around each sealing plate. Respective rolling bearings () near each end of the casing () facilitate rotation of the external rotor () relative to the stator (), and a clamping arrangement () minimizes noise from the bearings.

A circuit board () is equipped with at least one conductor path () and a contact element (). The latter is adapted to mechanically engage and electrically contact an electrical conductor (). In the region of a conductor path (), the circuit board () has passthrough orifices (). The contact element () has a base part () and feet () which press-fit into the orifices (to) of the circuit board (). The contact element () has a contact tongue () that is resiliently articulated on the base part () and clamps the electrical conductor (). This makes possible a secure connection from the electrical conductor () to the circuit board (), e.g. for connecting a device having a large current demand.

An improved fan arrangement features a radial or diagonal fan () with which a direct current motor () is associated as its drive motor, further comprising a digital control element () which executes a program, for controlling the current flowing through the direct current motor (), which program is so configured that it applies a substantially constant current in the motor () in the working rotation speed range of the fan.

In an electronically commutated motor (M), rotor position signals are generated by means of a galvanomagnetic rotor position sensor (). A timer (CNT_HL) brings about an advanced commutation which occurs only once the motor has reached a specific rotation speed, and whose magnitude is a function of the rotation speed.

An electric motor has a stator and an external rotor (). Its external rotor () has a sensor magnet () having a plurality SP of sensor poles (). The motor also has: at least one rotor position sensor () for generating a rotor position signal and a rotor position evaluation arrangement for generating an absolute value for the rotor position, which apparatus comprises an A/D converter () having a resolution of at least two bits, the at least one rotor position sensor () being connected to the A/D converter. In order to enable obtaining different digital values, even at rotational positions within the angle range of one sensor pole, each analog rotor position sensor signal is converted by the A/D converter into a digital value having at least two bits.

An electronically commutated motor () is adapted to be powered directly by an AC voltage (U) source, and comprises a permanent-magnet rotor (), a stator having at least one winding phase (L, L, . . . , Ln), a rectifier () which generates, from the AC voltage (U), a pulsating DC voltage (U) between a positive lead () and a negative lead () of a DC link (). Also present is a bridge circuit (A,B,C), connected to that DC link () and provided to supply current to the at least one winding phase (L, L, . . . , Ln), which comprises a switching element () controllable with a control voltage (U) that is lower than the pulsating DC voltage (U) to be switched. An auxiliary circuit (') generates, from the pulsating DC voltage (U) at the DC link and from the AC voltage (U), a control voltage (U) for driving the switching element () that is lower than the pulsating DC voltage by an amount equal to a predetermined value (U). A preferred filter () for connection to an AC power grid is described. A preferred embodiment of the circuit includes a bridge circuit having a p-channel MOSFET () at the positive lead () and an n-channel MOSFET () at the negative lead () of the DC link ().

Electronically commutated motor operable directly from AC power network

An arrangement having an electric motor () has a microcontroller () for influencing at least one motor function and a nonvolatile storage element () for storing at least one variable as a definition for that motor function. The arrangement also has an interface () for a data line () for transferring the at least one variable, in particular a current limiting value (I) from or to a storage element () by way of the microcontroller (), and optionally by way of an internal data bus (). The invention also relates to use of the device in the context of batteries of fans, and program-controlled current limitation for startup of an electric motor ().

The invention relates to a fan arrangement comprising a radial or diagonal fan () with which a direct current motor () is associated as drive motor, further comprising a digital control element () such as a microcontroller or microprocessor, associated with that direct current motor (), and comprising a program, associated with that digital control element (), for controlling the current flowing through the direct current motor (), which program is embodied to generate a substantially constant current in the motor () in the working rotation speed range of the fan.

The invention concerns a method for operating an electronically commutated motor () that is equipped with a current limiting arrangement which acts on a PWM controller (). The latter, in operation, delivers PWM pulses () having a controllable pulse duty ratio (pwm) and a substantially constant frequency. In the event a predetermined upper limit value (I; I) of the motor current (I) is exceeded, the current limiting arrangement effects a change in this pulse duty factor (pwm) in order to reduce the motor current (I). If the motor current (I) exceeds a predetermined upper limit value (I; I) while the motor () is rotating, that limit value (I; I) is raised by a timing member () during a predetermined time span () (FIG.: I), so that the available motor power is temporarily raised in the context of a load peak. If the rotor () is stalled, the limit value (I) is not raised but instead is greatly lowered. The limit value (I) is preferably raised as a function of the rotation speed of the motor () in order to utilize the improved motor cooling at high rotation speeds. At start-up of the motor (), the limit value (I) is briefly increased to a high value in order to enable dependable starting.

Method for operating an electronically commutated motor, and motor for carrying out one such method

If a motor becomes defective, e.g. stops running, runs too slowly, or becomes too hot, many customers demand the generation of an alarm signal, i.e. ask for an alarm device provided on the motor. The following method is used for configuring this alarm signal: At least one parameter for configuring the alarm device of the motor is inputted via a input interface (); the at least one parameter is stored in a parameter memory (); the execution of at least one routine of the alarm device provided in the microprocessor () is influenced by said stored parameter or by a parameter derived therefrom. The invention furthermore concerns a motor for carrying out such a method. In a motor of this kind, the alarm device can easily be configured in accordance with a customer's present needs.

Method for configuring the alarm device of an electrical motor and motor for implementing said method

The invention concerns a method of regulating the current in a direct current machine with which are associated an arrangement for generating a current target value signal, as well as a PWM generator (FIG.) whose output signal (PWM) is controllable by means of a control signal (u) and controls the current in the direct current machine, having the following steps: a) the pulse duty factor of the PWM generator is controlled with the control signal (u); b) with the output signal (PWM) of the PWM generator, the current in the direct current machine is controlled in such a way that a pulsed direct current (i; i') is obtained in a supply lead thereof; c) a pulsed current-dependent signal (u) is derived from this pulsed direct current (i; i&#x2032;) and is compared to the current target value signal (PHI); d) as a function of the result of that comparison, the control signal (u) for controlling the PWM generator () is modified in such a way that the current in the direct current machine is regulated to the desired target value.

Method for controlling or regulating the current in a direct current machine for a fan

An improved method of commutating an electronically commutated DC motor shuts off application of power between the end of one current pulse and the beginning of the subsequent current pulse. Based upon the instantaneous rotation speed, one calculates at what instant to shut off the power. During the power interruption, the disconnected winding is operated in short-circuit mode using two MOSFET transistors, and the decay of the current is monitored. When the current reaches a predetermined reduced value, the terminals of the winding are switched to a high-resistance state, until the subsequent current pulse is started. This has the advantage that less reactive power occurs during operation, and one need not install as bulky a storage capacitor as the capacitors used heretofore.

Method for commutating an electronically commutated DC motor, and motor for carrying out said method

An electronically commutated motor has a rotor (), a stator having a stator winding arrangement (), and a full bridge circuit () for controlling the current (i, i) in the stator winding arrangement (); in the full bridge circuit (), first semiconductor switches () are connected to a first DC supply lead () and second semiconductor switches () to the other DC supply lead (), said second switches being bidirectionally conductive of current in the switched-on state. The motor has an arrangement () for opening the first semiconductor switches () and for closing the second semiconductor switches () during a predetermined operating state. An arrangement () is provided for monitoring the direction of the current (i, i) which flows in the second semiconductor switches () when the latter are conductive during the predetermined operating state.
