An electronically commutated electric motor for driving fuel feed assemblies for internal combustion engines, that is connected axially flush with a feed pump and is inserted into a common housing. In the housing, the electric motor has a stator that has two stator windings which are supplied with power on alternating sides; a rotor rotates in the stator, disposed in a manner fixed against relative rotation on a rotor shaft supported in the housing. The rotor is embodied as a carrier guided onto the rotor shaft and magnet segments disposed on its circumference face, which according to the invention are held in contact with the carrier via retaining clamps likewise are guided onto the rotor shaft. These retaining clamps are embodied so that, during assembly of the individual elements of the rotor, they take on the task of the centering of the magnet segments during the assembly of the individual parts of the rotor and are braced via compensating disks only after the complete assembly of all rotor elements, in such a way that they keep the magnet segments radially pressed against the carrier of the rotor.

An actuating device is proposed which is used to adjust a throttle valve disposed in the intake tube of an internal combustion engine. The actuating device includes a gas pedal adapted to engage an actuating lever, which is supported rotatably relative to a throttle valve shaft, so as to pivot counter to the force of a restoring spring. Connected to the actuating lever is a follow-up drawing spring, which is secured with one end to an intermediate lever provided with a cam disk having a curved camming surface which surface a lever arm is supported so as to operate a damper element. The intermediate lever is rotatably supported with respect to the throttle valve shaft and with a coupling stop engages a throttle valve lever, which is connected to the throttle valve shaft such that relative rotation between them is prevented. The throttle valve lever is drawn against the coupling stop by means of an uncoupling spring disposed between the intermediate lever and the throttle valve lever. An idling actuator also engages the throttle valve lever. When the actuating lever is actuated in the clockwise direction, the intermediate lever is drawn in a damped follow-up manner by the follow-up drawing spring to adjust the throttle valve via the throttle valve lever.

A sensor is disclosed for detecting the position of a movable part in a motor vehicle with a common drive for several position pickups and several paths. The individual paths are traversed at least partly consecutively over the total range so that a position signal with different resolution depending on the path can be made available. This is accomplished by means of individual paths corresponding to different places in the total range. The paths are in the form of resistance paths. The signals picked up can then be associated with electrically different paths for further processing. Paths having the same resolution are also possible.

The feeler pin traces the position of a control body provided with a cam track and the control body can be displaced to a variable extent in a guide bore by means of an expansion element and thereby bring about a variably large rotation of the throttle device and hence a variably large opening of the cross section for the aspirated air during engine idling in the warm-up phase.

A sliding-link mechanism is proposed, which serves in particular to actuate a throttle device in the intake tube of an internal combustion engine. The sliding-link mechanism is disposed by way of example on a throttle valve assembly and includes a variable-fulcrum lever, which is firmly connected to a shaft and has a kidney-shaped oblong slot groove, which is engaged by a roller rotatably supported on a shaft. The shaft is secured on a roller lever, which with a hub is seated on an eccentric sleeve, which can be rotatable about a shaft secured to the throttle valve assembly. The eccentric sleeve and the hub have meshing teeth which by axial displacement relative to one another become disengaged, so that by rotating the eccentric sleeve the position of the roller lever relative to the variable-fulcrum lever can be varied in such a way that in the outset position the roller comes to rest on the end of the oblong slot groove. Subsequently the eccentric sleeve is displaced axially relative to the hub in such a way that the teeth mesh with one another and the eccentric sleeve is fixed on the hub.

Sliding-link mechanism

A restoring device for an adjusting element, which serves in particular for restoring a throttle device of an internal combustion engine. The restoring device has a first spring subject to bending, which is disposed on a bushing that is rotatably supported about a throttle valve shaft and with one end engages a step of the bushing, while the other end of the spring is hooked onto the housing on the throttle valve fitting. A lever is connected with the shaft. The first spring subject to bending acts in the restoring direction of the throttle valve. A second spring subject to bending is disposed in the bushing, one end of this spring engaging the bushing and the other end being supported on the lever. The spring force of the second spring subject to bending is less than that of the first such spring, so that the bushing, with a stop step, is rotated so far that the second spring has not influence in the restoring direction upon the throttle valve. If the first spring should break, the second spring rotates the bushing, with the stop step, until such time as the stop step comes to rest on a stop face of the throttle valve fitting and the second spring subject to bending now acts upon the lever in the restoring direction.

Restoring device for an adjusting element

A fuel injection system which serves to supply fuel to an internal combustion engine. The fuel injection system includes a metering and quantity distribution valve with regulating valves connected at the output side, which valves can be influenced by the fuel pressure in a differential pressure control line. Communicating with a fuel supply line is a fuel reservoir, which has a flexible diaphragm which is displaceable by the fuel pressure counter to a reservoir spring in a spring chamber. Shortly before the end of the movement of the flexible diaphragm into the spring chamber, a spring plate resting on the flexible diaphragm opens a sealing valve via a stem. The sealing valve rests on the mouth of an outflow line, which leads via a control throttle to the differential pressure control line. A pressure maintenance valve is likewise disposed upstream of the sealing valve, and a line from a pressure limitation valve and a leakage line from the metering and quantity distribution valve discharge between the pressure maintenance valve and the sealing valve. The spring chamber of the fuel reservoir communicates via a return flow line with the fuel container.

Fuel injection system

An inductive displacement transducer is proposed which serves to convert a mechanical movement into an electrical signal and in particular, in order to measure the fuel consumption of an internal combustion engine, the transducer ascertains the movement of an air flow rate meter disposed in the intake tube of the engine. The displacement transducer includes a core comprising two E-shaped sets of arms disposed symmetrically relative to one another, of which one set of arms serves as the measuring arm set, the middle arm of which is surrounded on one end by a measuring magnetic coil and on the other end by a measuring short-circuit ring connected with the air flow rate meter, and the other set of arms acts as a reference arm set, the middle arm of which is surrounded on one end by a reference magnetic coil and on the other end by a fixed reference short-circuit ring. The measuring short-circuit ring is connected with a leaf spring, which is secured on the air flow rate meter.

Inductive displacement transducer

A fuel injection system which serves to supply fuel to a mixture-compressing, externally ignited internal combustion engine which includes an air flow rate member for actuating a metering and distribution valve, a flushing valve is disposed in an outlet line leading from each injection valve to a return flow line open when the engine is turned off and immediately after actuation of the ignition switch of the engine, enables a return flow via the outlet lines of the fuel flowing through the fuel supply line and the metering and distribution valve assembly to the injection valves until an electromagnetic valve drivable by a time control element opens a pressure line to a pressure chamber of the flushing valve, and the pressure prevailing in the pressure chamber opens a diaphragm connected to the movable valve parts of the flushing valve in such a manner that the flushing valve closes. Simultaneously with the opening of the electromagnetic valve, the electrical circuit of the starter motor is closed, so that after the preceding filling with fuel of all the lines and assemblies of the fuel injection system with fuel, a more certain start of the engine is assured.

A fuel supply device is proposed which serves to supply fuel to a mixture-compressing, externally ignited internal combustion engine with a good distribution of the fuel-air mixture. The fuel supply device includes a fuel metering device activated by an air metering device arranged in the air intake manifold of the internal combustion engine with the fuel metering device being connected to an air line in which the metered fuel is mixed with air before the injection into the air intake manifold. Between the air line and the fuel line, upstream from the fuel metering position, a filter having a fine-meshed weave is arranged by means of which the fuel is prevented from flowing out over the air line in an undesirable manner.

Fuel supply device

A pivoting member, especially the air flow rate meter of an internal combustion engine is disposed on a hub which surrounds a locally fixed shaft. Extending inwardly from the hub is a protrusion, for example a pin, which penetrates an opening in the wall of the shaft which is hollow at this point due to a blind bore extending axially into the shaft. The protrusion is held between two balls or rollers which are located in the blind bore and held in position by cooperation of a spring and an adjustment screw. The adjustment screw has a counter nut which bears on the end face of the shaft and also has gear teeth which engage a first set of threads of a pinion. The pinion has another set of threads of opposite and slightly different pitch so that rotation of the pinion causes differential rotation of the counter nut and permits very precise axial positioning of the hub which carries the pivoting member.
