A slide projector has a slide exchange element and a slider movable on the latter and having different widths suitable for magazines with different slide compartment widths, wherein the slider is engageable with the slide exchange element under the action of a spring in direction normal to the displacement direction of the slide exchange element, a magazine sensing element senses a magazine inertable into a respective magazine path and provides for disengagement of the slider from the slide exchange element, and an abutment slides in the displacement path of the slider in the disengaged position of the same.

Slide projector

A motion picture camera with variable focal length lens wherein the zooming collar and the distance selecting or focusing collar on the lens barrel are rotatable to neutral positions by an actuating member which is movable at right angles to or in parallelism with the optical axis of the lens. In such neutral positions of the collars, the focal length of the lens is satisfactory for the making of exposures in daylight or artificial light, and the distance setting corresponds to a distance of 4 to 6 meters to thus guarantee an acceptable depth of field for exposures of subjects located anywhere between closeup and infinity. The actuating member can further close a master switch to allow for starting of the camera motor in immediate response to depression of the release trigger.

One end of each film strip is engaged, and an adhesive film splice having a release paper which must be pulled off, is also engaged. In a single operation, resulting from the displacement of two components relative to one another, the overlapped ends of the film strips are cut, the release paper is pulled off the film splice, and the latter is pressed over the joint between the film strips to splice them together.

Method of and apparatus for splicing the ends of film strips

A container has an end wall and a stack of assemblies each composed of an adhesive film splice and a protective cover for the same, is accommodated in the container. The container has an opening in its end wall of a width which corresponds to the width of the assemblies so that the latter can be withdrawn individually from the container.
