The resistances of resistors arranged in a matrix form in a pressure-sensitive resistor mat are measured with high accuracy and using simple circuitry by the fact that the output of an operational amplifier is connected to each row conductor and each column conductor, which are connected to the resistor. A voltage is selectively applied to the individual resistors by appropriately activating the operational amplifiers. Each operational amplifier associated with the row or column conductors is equipped with a current balancing circuit which detects the output current of the operational amplifier connected to the selected resistor which flows through this resistor. A processor determines the individual resistance values from the currents flowing through the individual resistors and the voltage drops across those resistors.

Circuit arrangement for measuring the resistance of resistors in a pressure-sensitive resistor mat

A measurement apparatus and a method for measuring a seat mat for a vehicle seat which serve to perform a function test or a recording of readings by way of a negative pressure that is generated in the seat mat. The negative pressure is established by way of a pressure difference between the negative pressure and the external atmospheric pressure. The method is thus independent of the external atmospheric pressure. The controller that establishes the pressure difference is embodied either electronically or mechanically.

A circuit arrangement with low sensitivity to faults and few components has a first resistor connected in parallel to the resistor mat and a second resistor connected in series to the parallel circuit. A controllable voltage regulator, to which a control voltage dependent on the resistance of the resistor mat is supplied, is also connected in parallel to the series circuit. The output voltage of the voltage regulator can be tapped as a voltage divider.

Circuit configuration for measuring the resistances of a pressure-sensitive resistor mat

An electronic device includes an acceleration-sensitive sensor, an electronic circuit arrangement for analyzing the output signal from the sensor, an ignition output element, an ignition element, and a safety device for the vehicle's occupants. To test the operating readiness of the ignition element, an oscillator circuit is also provided, which applies an output signal to the ignition element. The resulting voltage drop obtained across the ignition element is compared by means of a window comparator to threshold values.
