A locking pawl for a mechanism for blocking a belt retractor of a safety belt comprises a first locking pawl element made of a first material and adapted to block said belt retractor, and a second locking pawl element made of a second material and adapted to control a movement of said locking pawl. The first material is different from the second material.

A belt retractor comprises a belt spool rotatably mounted in a frame, a locking mechanism for the belt spool with at least one locking disc connected to the belt spool, and a torque limiting member arranged in a force flow path between the belt spool and the locking disc. The torque limiting member is constructed as a friction clutch comprising two clutch faces lying opposite each other and a friction member arranged between the clutch faces. The friction member is constructed as a flat spring part having shaped sections. The shaped sections lie at least partially against at least one of the clutch faces.

An assembly comprises a belt retractor for a vehicle safety belt and a force limiter. The belt retractor comprises a belt spool, and the force limiter comprises a housing and a driving part able to be coupled with the belt spool. The assembly comprises a locking catch connected with the driving part, a release mechanism for the locking catch, and a stationary locking toothing into which the locking catch can be caused to engage by the release mechanism. The release mechanism is able to be activated by a relative rotation between the driving part and the housing of the force limiter and, towards an end of this relative rotation, can cause to engage the locking catch into the locking toothing whereby the belt spool is locked against a rotation in a belt webbing withdrawal direction relative to the locking toothing.

A belt retractor for incorporation in a fold-down type backrest of a vehicle seat is disclosed. The backrest of the seat is able of being latched to a vehicle body in an upright seating position by a lock. The retractor has a frame and a belt reel rotatably mounted in the frame. A blocking mechanism is provided for selectively blocking rotation of the belt reel on the frame. The blocking mechanism is activated as long as the backrest is not locked in place by latching action of the lock. The blocking mechanism comprises an activating mechanism and an actuating element associated therewith and coupled to the lock by a push/pull mechanism.

A frame for a belt retractor of a vehicular seat belt system includes two side parts, a rear wall connecting the side parts to each other, and a positioning strap having a first end connected to the rear wall and a second end. The second end is provided with a stiffening strip which in turn is connected to the rear wall.

A belt retractor is provided for incorporation in a fold-down type backrest which can be latched to a vehicle body in an upright position by a lock. The retractor has a frame and a belt, a reel rotatably mounted in the frame. A blocking mechanism is provided which blocks the belt reel non-rotatably to the frame as long as the backrest is not locked by latching action of the lock.

A belt retractor for a vehicular occupant restraint system has a load-bearing frame and a stud for securing the belt retractor to a vehicle. The stud has a free end facing away from the frame, this free end being provided with a connecting projection. The connecting projection is provided with a guide pin for a nut adapted to be screwed on the stud.

A belt winder with a locking toothing and a locking catch provided with at least one locking tooth. The locking catch is able to be moved into the locking toothing in order to lock the belt spool against rotation in a direction of unwinding the safety belt. The belt winder further comprises a control ring rotatable relatively to the belt spool. The control ring is provided with a coupling toothing and engages at the locking catch. The belt winder further comprises a coupling catch rotatably mounted on the belt spool, and a control disc which is non-rotatable relatively to the belt spool and at which an inertial disk is rotatably mounted which on rotation relatively to the control disk brings the coupling catch into engagement with the coupling toothing of the control ring. Thereby, on rotation of the belt spool in the unwinding direction, the control ring is entrained via the coupling catch and the locking catch is engaged into the locking toothing up to a first contact between the locking tooth and the locking toothing. Further, a slot link is provided which couples the locking catch and the control ring such that upon occurrence of the first contact between the locking tooth and the locking toothing, the pivoting movement of the locking catch towards the locking toothing is converted into a rotation of the control ring, which leads the rotation of the belt spool in the unwinding direction.

Belt winder for a vehicle safety belt

A belt retractor for a vehicle occupant restraining system comprises a load bearing frame provided with a sleeve-like cylindrical boss. The cylindrical boss has an external screw thread on which a nut may be screwed for the attachment of the belt retractor on the vehicle. An elongated guide pin extends through the cylindrical boss to provide for guidance of the nut.
