In a photocopier including a movable member carrying a photoconductive layer, a charging station for charging the layer, an illuminating station for photographically exposing the layer, a developing station provided with a magnetic brush and arranged to supply a magnetic single component toner to the brush for developing the image formed on the layer, a transfer station for transferring the developed image to a record material sheet, and a cleaning station for cleaning the layer, the stations being disposed in succession along the path of movement of the movable member for bringing each portion of the layer into operative association with each station in succession, in combination with a cassette containing a supply of such toner, the developing station is provided with a structure for receiving and holding the cassette in a position for dispensing toner for supply thereof to the magnetic brush, and the cleaning station is provided with a structure for receiving and holding the cassette in a position for collecting residual toner removed from the photoconductive layer in the cleaning station, whereby one and the same cassette can be used to initially supply toner to the developing station and, after having been substantially emptied, can serve as a receptacle for residual toner in the cleaning station.

In an electrophotographic copier including a replaceable photoconductive sheet having a leading edge portion and a trailing edge portion and a guide drum rotatably supported by a drum shaft and having a circumferential surface for supporting the sheet and a holding device for securing the leading sheet edge portion to the guide drum, the holding device is composed of elements defining a wedge-shaped slot disposed alongside the circumferential surface of the drum and delimited by a pair of faces which converge toward the circumferential surface where they form an insertion opening for a photoconductive sheet, a wedge loosely disposed in the wedge-shaped slot, and an element urging the wedge toward the insertion opening for clamping a photoconductive sheet end inserted in the slot between the wedge and one of the faces.

A device for the pressure fixing of a toner on a record carrier under ambient temperatures has a stand; a first pressure roll of relatively large diameter rotatably and stationarily supported in the stand; and a second pressure roll of relatively small diameter rotatably supported in the stand and cooperating with the first pressure roll to define therewith a roll gap. The second pressure roll is displaceably supported to be shiftable towards and away from the roll gap. The device further has a plurality of pressure rollers arranged in a series along the length dimension of the second pressure roll in an axially parallel orientation therewith and a support for individually displaceably supporting each pressure roller for movement towards and away from the roll gap. A separate spring urges each pressure roller into contact with the second pressure roll for exerting thereon a pressing force with which the first and second rolls compress a record carrier passing through the roll gap. With each pressure roller there is associated a setting mechanism for individually adjusting the pressing force exerted by each pressure roller.
