Inflatable roof for a motor vehicle

A damper is provided on a convertible for the dampling of bodyside torsional vibrations in the area of the windshield frame. This damper is arranged particularly on the frame of the windshield and is held by way of elastic slide bearings. The damper is arranged in the open at a distance from the frame and can swing relatively freely in the transverse directions of the vehicle so that natural torsional frequencies of the vehicle on the frame are damped.

Arrangement for the damping of torsional vibrations

A vehicle folding top is configured so that, when open, it is deposited in an assigned folding top compartment provided with a hinged compartment lid. At least one device is provided on the folding top compartment lid which, when the hinged compartment lid is closed, supportingly interacts with the folding top structure of the folding top deposited underneath. Thus, on one hand, the overall height of the folding top compartment can be reduced and, on the other hand, clattering noises of the deposited folding top during the driving operation are avoided.

Hatchback for a motor vehicle comprises a bordering frame which is glued together with and surrounds at least in part an edge area of a window. The bordering frame, at least in a partial area of its circumferential course, has a covering part resting on the exterior side of the window and on the bordering frame. In order to provide such a hatchback which has a simple construction, can be manufactured fast and at low cost, and reliably meets the requirements with respect to tightness, a method of manufacture forms the covering part by direct foaming around the bordering frame and of an edge area of the window.

So that a heating pipe of a heating system which extends inside a body part can be mounted and demounted in an easy and low-cost manner, and a defective sound-absorbing device can be exchanged easily, the heating pipe with the integrated sound absorbing device is formed by a prefabricated flexible mounting part which, after the surface treatment of the motor vehicle, is inserted into the body part through a mounting opening provided in a front wheel house and, at the end face, is connected with adjacent components of the heating system and of the body.

An air conditioning system for a preferably air cooled vehicle has a housing having an evaporator, a chamber and at least one blower. The housing, by way of outlet ducts having individually blockable defroster, center and legroom nozzles, is connected with a passenger compartment. By way of a warm air duct having an exhaust gas heat exchanger, the housing is acted upon by warm air, by way of an inflow duct having a fresh air flap controlled by an electric motor, it is acted upon by fresh air, and by way of an inflow duct for circulating air, it is acted upon by air from the interior of the vehicle. In this case, warm air and/or fresh air and/or circulating air, by way of a temperature mixing flap, is guided to a blower, is swirled together and mixed in it, and subsequently by way of the individual outlet ducts, is guided to the passenger compartment. In order to avoid air throughput fluctuations, the fresh air flap is controlled as a function of the driving speed of the motor vehicle, of the position of the temperature mixing flap, of a rotational speed step of the blower and of a switching condition of an electromagnetic clutch of a refrigerant compressor.

Air conditioning system

An air conditioning arrangement for a motor vehicle with an internal combustion engine whose fuel air mixture supply system is equipped with a fuel cut off in the coasting operation, utilizes a switching device which, in the case of a high heat requirement, at least temporarily stops the fuel cut off in the coasting operation.

In a heating and/or air-conditioning system for a motor vehicle, which has a first drain for rain and washing water and a second drain for the condensation water forming in the area of the evaporator, it is provided that both drains, at least in part, are integrated, specifically separate from one another, into the housing of the heating and/or air-conditioning system.

So that, in the case of a preferably air-cooled vehicle, the air-conditioning system responds rapidly to changing heated-air temperatures as well as fluctuations in volume, heated air and/or fresh air and/or circulating air or cooled air is together guided to a fan, is swirled together and mixed in this fan and is subsequently, by way of outflow ducts, guided to the vehicle interior. A blow-out temperature sensor arranged behind the fan continuously scans the temperature deviation of the mixed air from the adjusted desired temperature and, as necessary, automatically corrects the position of a temperature mixing flap provided in front of the fan.

A rear engine hood and a spoiler arrangement for the rear area of a vehicle body is disclosed. The spoiler arrangement is movable from an inoperative position flush with the body contours into an operative position to serve as a spoiler. A fan is assigned to the rear engine for taking in cooling air via air inlet openings of the spoiler arrangement, which cooling air acts upon a radiator mounted below the spoiler arrangement. In its operative position, the spoiler arrangement extends at a distance to the body, whereby, between the spoiler arrangement and the body, a rear transversely extending gap area and lateral gap areas are formed. These gap areas are covered by cover elements, achieving not only a targeted admission of cooling air to the radiator but also ensuring that undesirable exhaust gases or dirt particles are kept away from the fan.

An air-guidance device is provided for the front of a vehicle and is adapted to be attached near an outside edge near the bottom of the motor vehicle. A portion of the device is located on the bottom of the vehicle and extends longitudinally towards a wheel. This portion is provided with air-guiding channels used for cooling the brakes. Each air-guiding channel is constructed such that the bottom portion of the channel facing the road is open over at least a partial area of its longitudinal length. This arrangement provides cooling of the brakes and is simple to construct and mount to a vehicle.

To control the cooling air requirements of an internal combustion engine and additional assemblies on a motor vehicle, a combination of cooling air flaps adjustable by an electric motor and a ventilator blower whose rpm is adjustable and which are powered by electric motors is used. One closed, one partially open, and one fully open position of the cooling air flaps as well as the rotational speed of the blower are controlled as a function of the cooling requirements of the internal combustion engine and the states of an air conditioner, a temperature of an automatic transmission fluid, a temperature of an intake manifold of the internal combustion engine, and the position of an ignition switch and an engine hood contact switch in such fashion that a cooling air stream which changes nearly continuously with the cooling requirements is created in the cooling air duct. Advantageously, in addition to the optimum protection of the system and a favorable fuel consumption, a shortened warmup phase of the internal combustion engine and improved aerodynamics of the motor vehicle are achieved by limiting the throughflow of the internal combustion engine chamber with the cooling air flaps closed or partially open.

Cooling air flap and blower control for motor vehicles

A radiator arrangement for a motor vehicle has air inlet openings in the front of the arrangement and lateral air discharge openings. The arrangement is composed of an air guiding housing which has two separated spaces for receiving the water radiator and the oil radiator respectively. Separate air inlet ducts are provided for the spaces and a combined air guiding duct combines the air flows downstream of the radiators. The air is then discharged through lateral discharge openings in the side walls of the vehicle located ahead of the front wheels.

An air supply channel for a charging air intercooler of an exhaust gas turbocharger of an internal combustion engine arranged in the rear of a vehicle, in which the air supply channel is arranged within the fender area of the vehicle and includes an air inlet and an air discharge opening; the channel includes a tubular element which is constructed trumpet-shaped and is retained in the wheel casing above the rear wheel; at its air inlet side, the channel is connected with an inlet connection fixed at the body by way of a connecting sleeve and at its air discharge side with the charging air intercooler.
