Provided is a polyolefin composition including a blend of recycled plastic material including polyproplyene and polyethylene, which is recovered from a waste plastic material derived from post-consumer and/or post-industrial waste; glass fibres; talc; at least one coupling agent; and at least one impact modifier. The polyolefin composition has a tensile modulus of at least 4 GPa, and an impact strength of at least 10 kJ/m.

Polypropylene-polyethylene composition with improved toughness

A polymer composition including: A) 70-97 wt.-% of a polymer blend, including a1) 50-95 wt.-% polypropylene; a2) 5-50 wt.-% polyethylene; B) 3-30 wt.-% of a copolymer of propylene and 1-hexene, including b1) 30-70 wt.-% of a first random copolymer of propylene and 1-hexene; and b2) 30-70 wt.-% of a second random copolymer of propylene and 1-hexene having a higher 1-hexene content than the first random propylene copolymer b1); the weight proportions of components al) and a2) are 100 wt.-%; the weight proportions of components b1) and b2) are 100 wt.-%; component A) has a MFR2 of from 1.0-50.0 g/10 min; component B) has a 1-hexene content in the range of 2.0-8.0 wt.-% based on the overall weight of component B); and the polymer composition is free from plastomers being an elastomeric copolymer of ethylene and 1-octene having a density of from 0.860-0.930 g/cm.

A polyethylene-polypropylene composition obtainable by blending a) 80 to 97 wt.-% of a blend (A) comprising A-1) polypropylene and A-2) polyethylene, wherein the weight ratio of polypropylene to polyethylene is from 3:7 to 7:3, and wherein blend (A) is a recycled material, which is recovered from a waste plastic material derived from post-consumer and/or industrial waste; and b) 3 to 20 wt.-% of a compatibilizer (B) being a C2C8 plastomer, having—a DSC melting point of below 75° C. Upgraded recycled polyethylene polypropylene blend

The present invention is directed to a polyethylene-polypropylene composition comprising a blend (A) being a recycled material, said blend comprising polypropylene and polyethylene, and a compatibilizer (B) being a CCCterpolymer. Further, the present invention is directed to an article comprising said polyethylene-polypropylene composition and a process for preparing said polyethylene-polypropylene composition. The present invention is also directed to the use of a compatibilizer (B) being a CCCterpolymer for improving the impact-stiffness balance and the morphology of the blend (A).

Low filled automotive polypropylene composition containing recyclates

A composition comprising (A) 18.0 to 60.0 wt.-% of a heterophasic composition (HECO); (B) 7.0 to 55.0 wt.-% of a polypropylene-polyethylene blend (B); (C) 0.0 to 12.0 wt.-% of an HDPE; (D) 2.0 to 12.0 wt.-% of plastomer; and (E) 7.0 to 25.0 wt.-% of talc; wherein the HECO has a Tm of 150 to 159° C., an MFR2 of 20.0 to 120 g/10 min, a CRYSTEX QC crystalline fraction of 79.0 to 91.0 wt.-%, a CRYSTEX QC soluble fraction of 9.0 to 21.0 wt.-%, and an ethylene content of 1.5 to 6.5 mol.-%; blend (B) comprises at least 85.0 wt.-% of polypropylene and at most 15.0 wt.-% of polyethylene and has an MFR2 of 5.0 to 75 g/10 min and an ash content of 0.1 to 3.0 wt.-%; and the plastomer is a C2/C8 or a C2/C4 copolymer having a density of 850 to 900 kg/m3.

Automotive composition

The present invention is directed to a biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film with improved breakdown strength and to a capacitor comprising an insulation film comprising a layer of the biaxially oriented polypropylene film of the present invention. The present invention is further directed to a process for producing a biaxially oriented polypropylene film. Finally, the present invention is further directed to the use of a biaxially oriented polypropylene film of the present invention as layer of an insulation film of a capacitor. The BOPP film comprises a polypropylene composition, wherein the polypropylene composition comprises a high isotactic homopolymer of propylene and a polymeric α-nucleating agent. The BOPP film has a dielectric breakdown field strength Eb63.2 of at least 595 kV/mm. The process for producing a biaxially oriented polypropylene film comprises the steps of extruding a polypropylene composition to a flat film and orienting the flat film simultaneously in the machine direction and in the transverse direction.

Biaxially oriented polypropylene film with improved breakdown strength

The present invention is directed to a polyethylene-polypropylene composition comprising a blend (A) being a recycled material, said blend comprising polypropylene and polyethylene, and a compatibilizer (B) being a copolymer of 1-butene and ethylene. Further, the present invention is directed to an article comprising said polyethylene-polypropylene composition and a process for preparing said polyethylene-polypropylene composition. Recycled polyethylene-polypropylene blends comprising a compatibilizer

The present invention provides a process for extruding and pelletising a propylene copolymer. The copolymer has a content of comonomer from 5 to 40% by mole, a melt flow rate MFRmeasured at 230&#xb0; C. under a load of 2.16 kg of from 0.5 to 15 g/10 min and a content of cold xylene soluble material of from 20 to 60% by weight. The process comprises extruding the propylene copolymer through a die plate into an underwater pelletiser and cutting strands of the propylene copolymer into pellets in the underwater pelletiser, wherein the ratio of the mass flow rate of the propylene copolymer to the mass flow rate of the cooling water is from 0.020 to 0.060; and the propylene copolymer comprises a polymeric nucleating agent.

Process for producing pellets of copolymers of propylene

The present invention is directed to a process for producing a modified olefin polymer having increased melt strength in an extruder. The process comprising the steps of: (A) contacting a stream comprising particles of an olefin polymer with a vapour stream of a functionally unsaturated compound in vapour phase thereby producing a first mixed stream; (B) passing the first mixed stream to an extruder; (C) melting the polymer particles of the first mixed stream in the extruder; (D) introducing a stream of a free radical generator either into the first mixed stream or into the extruder; and (E) extruding the first mixed stream and the free radical generator at a temperature which is greater than the decomposition temperature of the free radical generator and the melting temperature of the olefin polymer but less than the decomposition temperature of the olefin polymer thereby producing the modified olefin polymer in the extruder.
