A connection assembly for connecting a first element to a second element is provided. The connection assembly has a male element and a female element. The female element has a barrel nut. The barrel nut has a conical inner portion positioned at a first longitudinal region and a cylindrical inner portion positioned at a second longitudinal region. The barrel nut has a first engaging element portion and a first plain portion arranged alternatingly around a circumferential direction of the barrel nut. The male element has a cylindrical bolt-like shape and has a second engaging element portion and a second plain portion arranged alternatingly around a circumferential direction of the male element. The male element further has flattened sides at the second plain portion. The second engaging element portion of the male element is configured to engage with a respective one of the first engaging element portion of the barrel nut.

A system includes a freight carrier, front catch element and rear catch element, the front edge of the base element of the freight carrier having front engagement elements, and the rear edge has rear engagement elements. The front catch element has front floor engagement devices to engage locking elements so movement of the front catch element in the floor surface plane and perpendicular thereto is prevented. The rear catch element has rear floor engagement devices to engage locking elements in rails so movement of the rear catch element in the floor surface plane and perpendicularly thereto is prevented. A coupling kit-of-parts is provided for mounting an interior substructure to a primary structure of an aircraft. The kit includes a locking member and a mounting member. When the locking member is inserted into the mounting member, a first member part and a second member part are pushed radially outward to engage the primary structure in a form-fitting manner. When the locking member is removed, the first and second member parts are urged radially inward thereby disengaging from the primary structure.

A fastening element for fastening a first component to a second component. The fastening element includes an elastically deformable body and an elongated actuating member. The actuating member is movably guided relative to the body to be selectively movable further into or further out of the body. The body is configured to be elongated by moving the actuating member further into the body and applying a corresponding load onto the body and to elastically deform back by moving the actuating member further out of the body and releasing the load applied thereto. Further, the body is configured to have a smaller outer diameter when correspondingly elongated than when non-elongated and/or deformed back.

Methods for fastening two fiber composite parts to each other with a fastener that includes electroactive polymer material. The parts have an opening within an inner circumferential surface. Fibers protrude from the inner circumferential surface into the opening and interlock with chains of micrograins of the electroactive polymer material. The fastener may switch between an activated state and a deactivated state and in the deactivated state, the fastener engages the exposed fibers.

A system for installing a self-supporting truss structure having interconnected truss elements on an aircraft fuselage. The truss structure has radially outer closed truss nodes and radially inner releasable connecting nodes. The installation system has a carrying device, movable on a fuselage floor and with an upper receptacle, a stand for temporarily holding truss elements in predetermined relative positions, and a movement device, on the upper receptacle, and holding the stand in a settable position relative to the support surface. The stand is further away from the support in installation positions than in a transport position. The installation system is configured, with the stand in the transport position, to move the carrying device into a predetermined internal fuselage position and to lock it there, to move the stand into a suitable installation position via the movement device, and to lock the at least one lockable connecting node via a drive.

A compartment system for a vehicle cabin includes a framework assembly for attachment to a vehicle structure, and a container bin. The framework assembly includes a flat bottom section, a top part and a lateral stiffening element. The bottom section has a rear edge for attachment to the structure and a front edge opposite to the rear edge. The top part is spaced from and parallel to the bottom section front edge. The lateral stiffening element is connected to the top part and the bottom section to create the framework assembly having a front opening between the top part and the bottom section front edge. The container bin has a box-like shape and an open front side. The framework assembly and the container bin are configured to detachably attach the container bin in the framework assembly with the open front side arranged in the framework assembly front opening.

A seat rail system for an interior space of a vehicle includes a seat rail having a plurality of attachment sockets arranged in a row along a longitudinal extension of the seat rail. Each attachment socket has an at least partly spheroid concave bearing surface. Two coupling openings are embedded in each concave bearing surface; an attachment stud having an at least partly spheroid or cylindroid convex bearing surface with a curvature corresponding to a curvature of the concave bearing surface of the attachment sockets. A coupling pin is arranged on or in the convex bearing surface and configured to enter one of the attachment openings to couple the attachment stud to the seat rail. A locking pin is configured to enter the respective other attachment opening through a through hole in the attachment stud and thereby lock the attachment stud to the seat rail.

A mounting member configured to support a cabin component to be mounted to a mounting rail. The rail mounting arrangement comprises a disengagement locking mechanism that prevents a removal of the mounting member along a transversal direction of the mounting rail, while still allowing movement along the longitudinal direction. The rail mounting arrangement includes a securing mechanism that is configured to secure the mounting member at the desired location along the mounting rail.

First and second parallel side walls extend away from first and second opposite edges of the floor element base surface. A front wall extends between the first and second side walls from a base surface third edge to a top wall front edge. The front wall has a first front wall portion, extending from the base surface third edge at a first angle of at least 90° to the resting surface. The front wall has a second front wall portion, extending from the top wall front edge at a second angle of less than 180° and more than 90° to the top wall.

A floor system for a cabin of a vehicle is proposed, the floor system including a floor panel having a bottom layer, a top layer and a continuous stiffening structure having an alternating arrangement of elongated first depressions and elongated protrusions arranged between the bottom layer and the top layer, an elongated cover component, and at least one seat rail component. The cover component has an upper surface, a lower surface, and an elongated second depression reaching from the upper surface to the lower surface and having a shape that corresponds to the shape of the first depressions. The cover component is configured to be mounted inside a first depression that is accessible through an elongated cutout extending along a depression of the stiffening structure. The at least one seat rail component is attachable to the cover component to provide a seat rail along the floor panel.

A fastening system includes a first fastening element attachable to a structure and which has a base portion for plugging through a structural opening, a second fastening element, and a plastically deformable funnel element. The funnel element has a funnel-like basic shape with a funnel opening. The second fastening element can be introduced through the funnel opening into a receiving opening of the base portion and fastened therein and has a collar which faces away from the receiving opening and which is larger than the funnel opening. The funnel element is designed to be deformed from the funnel-like basic shape into a flat, disk-like final shape by the collar of the second fastening element during the fastening of the second fastening element.

Fastening system

An apparatus for fastening a component to an aircraft cabin attachment structure, the attachment structure having a fastening tube with a longitudinal axis. The apparatus has an internally bored sleeve rotatably positionable on the fastening tube and an external thread. A holding body connects to the component and has two spaced-apart limbs and a bearing surface enclosed by the limbs, and on which, an internal thread configured to the sleeve external thread, is arranged. A device fixes the holding body to the threaded sleeve and the fastening tube, the external and internal threads being non-self-locking. When the holding body internal thread presses against the threaded sleeve external thread, the threaded sleeve rotates until the external and internal threads align. The fixing device connects the threaded sleeve to the holding body in a rotationally fixed manner and fixes the holding body transversely with respect to the longitudinal axis.

Fastening apparatus for fastening a furnishing component to an attachment structure of an aircraft cabin

A method for installing a component fastening structure on an attachment structure where the fastening structure includes a unit including an elongate body, a first strut detachably coupled between the elongate body and a first fastening for fastening the unit to the attachment structure, a second strut detachably coupled at an inclined angle between the elongate body and the first fastening. The first and/or second strut are variably positionable relative to the elongate body and are lockable in an end position. A jig including a support structure is detachably coupled to the fastening structure elongate body, and a height adjustment device on which the support structure is mounted, is adjusted to arrange the first elongate body at a pre-determined height. The jig is moved relative to the attachment structure to engage the first fastening with an attachment structure first fixture and fastening the first fastening to the first fixture.
