Firing assemblies for use with firearms are described. A firing assembly for use with a firearm includes a hammer pivotably coupled to a hammer shaft. The hammer includes a hammer stop notch that at least partially engages a portion of a lever of a trigger assembly when the hammer is in a cocked position and a control curve section that engages a surface of the lever to retain the lever in an unlocked position as the hammer moves between the cocked position and a firing position. Additionally, the firing assembly includes a control element pivotably coupled to the hammer shaft and adjacent the hammer, wherein the control element includes a first control curve portion that at least partially adjoins the control curve section and wherein the hammer interacts with the control element to change a control curve region as the hammer moves between cocked position and the firing position.

Locking systems for use with firearms are described. An example locking system for use with a firearm includes a breechblock carrier and a lock spring mechanism that includes a piston. The breechblock carrier is configured to interaction with the piston. Additionally, the example locking system includes a first aperture. The piston is configured to expel fluid through the first aperture when the breechblock carrier retracts.

Hammer for a portable firearm

A blank cartridge device is disclosed for use with a firearm having a flash reducer. The blank cartridge device includes a bushing defining a bore sized to receive the flash reducer. It also includes a block mounted within the busing bore and defining a blind hole disposed in substantial alignment with the barrel bore. In addition, the blank cartridge device includes a compression spring disposed within the bushing bore such that movement of the bushing from the released position to the locked position compresses the spring.

An automatic pistol, with at least a barrel (1) and a slide (2) that move relative to the rest of the firearm and to each other, whereby the barrel extends through an alignment channel (3) in the slide. The weapon included means (4) of centering the barrel around at least one axis through the slide such that the barrel will not jam. The means are elastic and resilient and rest lightly against the inner surface of the channel before the weapon is discharged.

The invention discloses a hand-held firearm with a barrel assembly (2, 18, 36, & 54) moving back and forth essentially in or opposite the direction the weapon is fired in between a forward and a rear stop (44, 48, & 50) on or in a frame or grip assembly (12). A breech assembly (6 & 32) that moves back and forth essentially in the same direction as the barrel assembly between a forward and closed position and a rear and open position, moving out of the closed position and into the open position against the force of a closure spring (16) and, at the end of its return stroke, the frame or grip assembly or a component (64 or 64') resting off it. A buffering spring (66) tensions the barrel assembly toward the forward stop (44 or 50) and buffers its contact with the rear stop (44 or 48). The closure spring (16) and the buffering spring (66) are correlated to ensure that the breech assembly will strike the frame or grip assembly or the component supported off it essentially at the instant the barrel assembly comes into contact with the forward stop.
