A flexible bag is adapted to contain articles to be dispensed, and the bag has a closed first end and open second end. A collar is fixed to the open second end of the bag. A top has therein a dispensing opening and a slit connected with the dispensing opening. The top is selectively movable between a first position fitted to the collar and a second position removed from the collar. A lid is selectively movable between a first position covering at least a portion of the top and a second position removed from the top. The lid includes a first portion adapted to cover the dispensing opening when the lid is in the first position thereof and a second portion adapted to cover the slit when the lid is in the first position thereof. The second portion of the lid is integrally but flexibly connected to the first portion of the lid, such that when the lid is in the first position thereof the second portion of the lid may be selectively pivoted with respect to the first portion of the lid away from the top, thereby to uncover the slit.

Dispensing package for containing and dispensing articles

A dispensing closure for closing an end of a canister containing dispensable articles includes a top adapted to fit over an open end of a canister. The top has depending therefrom an integral peripheral axial flange. The top has therein a dispensing opening and a slit connected with the dispensing opening. The closure may be originally provided with the dispensing opening, or alternatively the closure may be originally provided with a tear-out member which is removed by the consumer to form the dispensing opening. The dispensing opening and slit may be formed directly in the top, or alternatively the top may have a recess defined by a bottom wall and a side wall, with the dispensing opening and slit being formed in the bottom wall of the recess. A lid is selectively movable between a first position covering the top or fitted within the recess and a second position removed from the top or recess. The lid includes a first portion adapted to cover the tear-out member or the dispensing opening when the lid is in the first position thereof. The lid includes a second portion adapted to cover the slit when the lid is in the first position thereof. The second portion of the lid is integrally but flexibly connected to the first portion of the lid, such that when the lid is in the first position therof the second portion of the lid is selectively pivotable with respect to the first portion of the lid away from the top, thereby to uncover the slit.

Prepackaged, disposable hypodermic syringes having a double-ended hypodermic needle comprising a cartridge ampoule and a syringe holder, as well as the syringe holders per se, are provided with restraint means to prevent accidental engagement between the hypodermic needle and the cartridge ampoule and consequent premature discharge of the ampoule contents prior to intended use.

A package and dispensing device for a continuous roll of pre-moistened towelettes which has an outer container that holds therein the roll of pre-moistened towelettes, the roll being surrounded by a bag which prevents the roll from drying out. The towelettes are pulled away from the roll through a hole in a sealing and dispensing plate and are pulled out of the top of the container.

Roach traps of the adhesive type with openings thereto adapted to provide enhanced thigmotropic stimulation to entering roaches. The traps are readily fabricated and are extremely effective.

A package for dispensing and separating single sheets from a continuous web of pre-moistened sheets which are joined at perforations includes a continuous web of premoistened sheets, and a bag which may but need not be found within a container, surrounding the web. The bag is open at a top end portion thereof, and an end sheet of the web extends through the open top end portion. A flexible tie device is positioned to surround the end sheet of the web and the top end portion of the bag and gathers and substantially seals the bag around the end sheet of the web. The flexible tie device causes sufficient friction between the top end portion of the bag and the end sheet to enable the end sheet to tear from the next sheet of the web at the perforations therebetween when the end sheet is withdrawn. The flexible tie device is adjustable to enable selective alteration to adjustment of the size of the opening through the opened top end portion of the bag and the end sheet.

The slidable piston closing the upper end of cartridge ampoules of the type used in hypodermic syringes is provided with a deformable section which, on forward and backward flexing, generates self-aspiration in the ampoule.

A hypodermic syringe of the automatic or self-aspirating type for use in combination with disposable cartridge ampoules closed at the lower end by a diaphragm pierceable by a double-ended hypodermic needle and closed at the upper end by a slidable piston comprises a syringe holder adapted to generate aspirating conditions within the cartridge ampoule by the slight backward displacement of the slidable piston by means of a double plunger, one slidable within and biased against the other, the inner plunger being positively interengaged with the slidable piston of the cartridge ampoule, and axial movement of the outer plunger being restricted by frictional engagement with a collet in the end of the syringe holder.

A hypodermic syringe of the automatic, or self-aspirating, type for use in combination with cartridge ampoules closed at one end by a diaphragm pierceable by a double-ended hypodermic needle and closed at the other end by a slidable piston consists of a syringe holder adapted to generate aspirating conditions within the cartridge ampoule by the slight backward displacement of the slidable piston by means of a double plunger, one slidable within, and biased against, the other, the inner plunger being positively interengaged with the slidable piston of the cartridge ampoule, and axial movement of the outer plunger being positively restricted by means for locking the other plunger with a collet in the end of the syringe holder.

A blister strip package comprising two coextensive sheets of heat sealable material provided with a first row of individual cavities for containing a product to be dispensed in one of said sheets, said first row of cavities being laterally aligned with a corresponding, opposing row of an equal number of second cavities in the same sheet, the cavity bearing sheet being heat sealed to the other sheet except in the areas defined by the cavities and, in one embodiment of the invention, being also heat sealed in areas spaced from the second cavities and adjacent to weakened lines for disruption of the covering sheet, whereby the second cavities can be pushed inwards and thus inverted to bear upon the covering sheet in order to thereby disrupt it at score lines or slits and to form a pull tab which can be grasped and pulled towards the aligned, respective pair of second and first cavities thereby peeling the covering sheet from the cavity bearing sheet and forming a direct access along predetermined lines to a selected first cavity.

A package comprising two sheets of heat sealable material, one of the sheets being relatively stiff and being provided with cavities for dispensing a product, the other sheet covering the cavities and the stiffer sheet. The covering sheet is longitudinally perforated along at least one edge of the package a short distance inward from the edge thereof; and from the area of the perforations inwardly, terminating short of the cavities, there are unsealed areas facilitating pealing the covering sheet in the direction of the cavities giving access thereto, after releasing a portion of said covering sheet from the cavity bearing sheet by bending along the line of the perforations and peeling.

A holder for X-ray films comprising a sheet of very thin material having a series of rectangular openings therein, each opening being surrounded by a depressed continuous flange below the plane of the sheet, and a discontinuous flange generally in the plane of the sheet of material, said discontinuous flange comprising four separate non-flexible lips or tabs extending for the major portion of the lengths of the respective sides into the rectangles in which they are located.
