The invention relates to a water-vapor plasma torch () for cutting a workpiece (), comprising a feed line () for a liquid (), a heating device (), and an evaporator () for forming a gas () from the liquid (), a cathode () detachably connected to a movably mounted piston rod (), and a nozzle () with an outlet opening () for the gas (), as well as to a wear-detection and process-control method to be used with such a water-vapor plasma torch (). To create such a water-vapor plasma torch () including wearing-part detection, at least one temperature sensor () is arranged within the piston rod (), said temperature sensor being connected to a control unit (), so that a wear of the cathode () and the nozzle () can be concluded from the temperature values detected, and that the control of the water-vapor plasma cutting process is influenceable.

Water-vapor plasma torch, and wear-detection and process-control method to be used with such a water-vapor plasma torch

The invention relates to a coupling device () used for producing a flow path between the tank () of a water vapor cutting device () and a liquid-filled cartridge (), wherein said coupling device () comprises a housing () provided with a receiving area () which is formed therein, used for mounting the cartridge () on said housing () and which comprises a channel () provided with an input orifice () fluidically connectable to the cartridge () and to an output opening () which is also fluidically connectable to an external surrounding area, for example to the tank (). A metering device () is arranged in the housing () and makes it possible to define a locking position, in which the cartridge () is not mounted on the housing () and the output orifice () is locked, wherein the metering device () also makes it possible to define a releasing position, in which said metering device () is displaceable, in particular by mounting the cartridge () on the housing (), and in which the output orifice () is released. A method for controlling the water vapor cutting device () is also disclosed.

Coupling device for a water vapor cutting device

The invention relates to a vapor plasma burner () comprising a burner handle () and a burner base (). Inside the burner base (), a liquid feed pipe (), a heating device (), a burner chamber (), a cathode (), connected to a cathode support (), and an anode () which is configured as a nozzle () and has an exit opening () are arranged. The invention also relates to a cathode () and to a nozzle () for such a vapor plasma burner (). The aim of the invention is to provide a vapor plasma burner () that can be optimally ignited and the wearing parts of which can be easily removed. For this purpose, the cathode support () is configured together with the cathode () as an axially displaceable piston and is connected to a spring element () in such a manner that the cathode (), in the rest position, is forced against the nozzle () and that the cathode support () communicates with the liquid feed line () in such a manner that during operation, the cathode () is lifted off the nozzle () when water is supplied so that an electric arc can be ignited between the cathode () and the anode ().

Vapor plasma burner

The invention describes a method for transforming a liquid () into a gaseous state for a cutting process with a water-steam cutting device (), consisting of a torch (), an evaporator (), an energy supply and a supply line () for a liquid (), an appropriate temperature () being generated for evaporation of the liquid (). To create a method of this type it is now provided that the temperature () is regulated during operation such that a sensor () senses the temperature () of the evaporator () and transmits it to a regulation unit which correspondingly supplies a heating element () with the energy necessary and by which a required pressure () of the liquid () supplied to the torch () is regulated so that an approximately constant temperature () of the evaporated liquid () is provided for a cutting process.

Water-steam cutting process and torch therefor

The invention relates to a steam cutting device (), comprising at least one container (), for a fluid (), a current source (), a controller () and a burner (), connected to the container (), by means of a supply line (), for generation of a steam jet exiting through a nozzle. According to the invention, such a steam cutting device (), in which no, or almost no fluid is found in the burner in stand-by mode or after switch-off of the steam cutting device such that post-evaporation can be avoided, may be achieved, whereby a relief line () is connected to the supply line (), for relieving the supply line () and/or the burner (), on or after the ending of the steam cutting process. A regulation valve () can be provided in the relief line, which can be connected to the controller () itself coupled to a sensor (), for determining the pressure in the burner ().

The invention relates to a blow torch (,) for a cutting process, in particular a steam cutting process, comprising a control device (,), a liquid supply system, in particular a container (,) for a liquid (,), and a power source (,), the blow torch (,) being connected via lines (,) to the power source (,). The blow torch (,) is connected by a supply line (,) to the liquid supply system. At least one duct or flow passage for the liquid (,) having a predeterminable cross section and path is provided in the blow torch (,) and is designed to convert the liquid (,) into a gaseous state, in particular a gas (,).
