A separation system for a fuel cell system. The separation system includes a first container with an open top to separate a liquid from a liquid-gas mixture, a second container with an open top, a measuring tube, and a flow meter. The first container includes an inlet to supply the liquid-gas mixture, a first upper outlet to discharge the gas, a second lower outlet to discharge the liquid, and a first container bottom. The second container includes an inlet, a drain with an outlet opening, and a second container bottom. The measuring tube fluidically connects the second lower outlet to the inlet into the second container. The flow meter measures a flow in the measuring tube between the first and second container geodetically below the outlet opening. The outlet opening of the drain is arranged geodetically above the first container bottom and above the second container bottom.

Separation system for a fuel cell system

Various embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to measuring methods for determining a flow rate of a process gas, contained in a gas pressure vessel charged with overpressure, escaping from the gas pressure vessel. In one example embodiment, the method includes: exerting a vessel weight force from the gas pressure vessel together with the contained process gas; compensating for the vessel weight force by means of a counterweight force exerted by a counterweight, or the counterweight force by means of the vessel weight force exerted by the counterweight, at least partially to a resultant measured weight force; determining the measured weight force at at least two points in time; and determining the flow rate of the process gas using the measured weight force determined at the at least two points in time.

The measuring system includes a main conduit which leads from a supply unit to a consumer, a measuring unit, a computing unit, and an outlet pressure controller. The measuring unit has a first Coriolis meter arranged in the main conduit, a second Coriolis meter arranged in series with the first Coriolis meter in the main conduit, a bypass conduit via which the second Coriolis meter is bypassable, and a valve which opens depending on a pressure arranged in the bypass conduit. The second Coriolis meter has a smaller maximum flow rate than the first Coriolis meter. The computing unit is connected to each of the first Coriolis meter and the second Coriolis meter. A system for measuring an injection process includes a measurement chamber filled with a fluid. An injection valve injects the fluid into the measurement chamber. A piston is arranged in the measurement chamber. A sensor generates a voltage which is a measure of a piston travel. The sensor is connected with an evaluation unit which continuously detects the piston travel in the measurement chamber. A rotary displacement pump arranged in a bypass channel to the measurement chamber is driven dependent on an existing volume difference. A pressure sensor is arranged in the measurement chamber. A heating element and/or a cooling device is/are arranged at the measurement chamber and is/are actuated by a controller so that an amount of energy introduced by the fluid injected by the injection valve and an amount of energy introduced by the heating element and/or the cooling device is substantially constant for every injection.

Device for injecting fuel into the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine

The invention relates to a device for measuring time-resolved volumetric throughflow processes, especially injection process in internal combustion engines, having a translational volume difference sensor having a piston disposed in a measuring compartment and a detection device detecting the excursion of the piston, the detection device being linked with an evaluation unit. According to the invention, a pressure sensor is mounted in the measuring compartment in addition to the detection device which detects the excursion of the piston. The signal of the detection device corresponding to the excursion of the piston can be better evaluated as the compressivity of the fluid in the measuring compartment can be taken into consideration for the calculation of the amount to be injected. The inventive device allows for a highly time-resolved representation of throughflow processes so that both overall amount and exact course of the throughflow can be represented and evaluated.
