A receiving coupler for large diameter capacitive data links comprises at least two layers of isolating material, having different lengths and being attached to each other. The shorter layer comprises on its outer surface a first pair of conductors, whereas the longer layer comprises a second pair and a third pair of conductors. The conductors are connected to each other by vias. The stack of layers of different lengths can be adapted to various curve radii of transmitting components of a capacitive rotary joint.

An inductive rotary joint for non-contact transmission of electrical energy between a stationary part and a rotating part of the rotary joint comprises a power generator for generating an alternating voltage or an alternating current, which feeds a load by means of a rotatable power transmitter. An electrical parameter on the primary side of the power transmitter is determined with a measurement means, and from this, the condition of another electrical parameter at the load is approximated by means of a functional unit. Regulation of the power generator is effected with this approximated value.

In a device for contact-free transmission of electrical signals between two gantry parts of a computed tomography system that rotate relative to one another, at least one annular, circumferential transmitter element is mounted on one gantry part to transmit the electrical signals, and at least one receiver element to receive the signals emitted by the transmitter element is mounted on the other gantry part. The transmitter element is formed by a single conductor running on a surface, this conductor representing an electrical reference ground (zero potential). At least one dielectric immediately follows on the surface, and multiple conductive conductor structure pairs are executed in two mirror-image parts and are mounted on the at least one dielectric. The separation of conductor structures arranged at the edge from the edge of the surface of the reference ground has a magnitude that both amounts to at least 10 mm and corresponds to at least half of the distance from the two conductor structures arranged in a mirror image at the edge, to the nearest conductor structure.

The invention relates to an inductive rotary joint having at least two component parts which each comprise a coil for introducing power and/or taking-up power. In order that the rotary joint may be able to withstand even high mechanical load, at least one of the component parts is made of a synthetic resin containing soft magnetic particles, and the coil of the one part is at least partially located in the synthetic resin.

A device for signal transmission in computer tomographs comprising a rotating part supported to be rotatable with respect to a stationary part. A transmission controller is provided on the rotating part for compiling, from video data of a video source and from control information of a control unit, serial data for transmission to the stationary part by means of a rotary joint. A receiving controller is provided in the stationary part for receiving the serial data transmitted by the rotary joint and for evaluating these data and communicating the control information contained therein to a control unit, and the video data to a data sink. The serial data generated by the transmission controller comprise data frames, and video data and control information each being transmitted in a data frame.
