A loop gripper () for a tufting machine has a gripper body () with a gripper finger () extending in an extension direction E from a retained end () to a free end (). On the gripper finger () underside (), a cutting region () transitions into a sliding surface () at a transition point (). A retaining element () near the transition point () is mounted to be pivotable about a pivot axis S relative to the gripper finger (). The pivot axis S extends in a transverse direction Q at right angles to the extension direction E. The retaining element () is urged into a starting position A by a force, for example a spring force and/or a weight force. In the starting position A, a retaining surface () of the retaining element () extends obliquely or at right angles away from the sliding surface ().

The pile cutteraccording to the invention allows tufted goods to be produced using materials which, for example, have a friction-reducing coating for forming a dirt-repellant surface that is soft to the touch. Such materials are known to be problematic in the production of pile and occasionally irregular pile is produced. Adjacent to the narrow cutting edgeof the pile cutteraccording to the invention is a comparatively broader stepand, which prevents the loop from slipping, without cutting into the latter.

A novel corner connector for heddle shafts has detent means with which it can be retained in a shaft rod. The load-related locking is effected independently of the detent means by a clamping device that acts between the struts of the shaft rod.

A heald having a heald body (), whose thickness increases toward the yarn eyelet (). The lateral surfaces of the heald body () constitute guiding surfaces which are oriented in the warp yarn direction and which, adjacent the yarn eyelet (), serve as spacers () for holding at a distance adjoining yarn eyelets () of adjoining healds.

In a heddle (), the slender heddle shank () has been lengthened, at the cost of the end eyelets () and the yarn eyelet region (). This is accomplished on the one hand by shortening the end eyelet regions () to their absolute minimum length and on the other by placing the auxiliary openings (), which serve to transport the heddles, closer to the end eyelets (). The radii R in the region of the end eyelets () are reduced. Instead of the usual 2 mm width, the heddle shank () still has a maximum width of 1.6 mm. The regions () of the heddle () that protrude past the end openings still have, instead of the usual length of 4 mm, a length of 2.5 mm to 3 mm. Directly around the yarn eyelet (), the heddle has a width which, as before, is equivalent to twice the width of the yarn eyelet (). However, the length of this region is shortened to a maximum of twice to three times the yarn eyelet width. The transition from the narrowest zone () of the heddle shank () to the comparatively wide zone () around the yarn eyelet () is characterized by an elongated transition region (), which has a maximum width of 1.8 mm and serves to reinforce this region against mechanical stresses.
