A method for installing a fiber-optic sensor in a protective tube, wherein a reshapable filler element which is preferably a wire made of spring steel is used as the filler element that, when twisted assumes an essentially helical shape, is introduced into the protective tube essentially in parallel to the axis of the fiber-optic sensor, where by changing the shape of the filler element, the free internal cross-section of the protective tube remaining for supporting the fiber-optic sensor is reduced such that the sensor is pressed against the wall of the protective tube whereby the thermal interface between the protective tube and sensor is improved and the reaction time during temperature measurements is reduced.

A measurement transducer having a sensor for converting a physical or chemical variable into an electrical signal which can be further processed, and an electronics unit proximate the sensor, for pre-processing the electrical signal and generating a measurement signal, wherein an evaluation device is connected to the receiver by an interface for transmitting the measurement signal and serves to determine a measurement value as a function of the measurement signal and output the measurement value, and so that the sensor can be operated at a relatively high temperature and the electronics unit arranged proximate the sensor, for reducing measurement noise is operable at a relatively low temperature, the electronics unit proximate the sensor, is provided with a thermal insulation with respect to the sensor and is cooled by a heat pipe, and where the evaluation device housing approximately at ambient temperature preferably serves as a heat sink.

A power electronic device is disclosed. The power electronic device may include a housing, a conductive element positioned within the housing and rated for at least a medium voltage, a cooling system in fluid communication with the conductive element, a plurality of temperature sensing tags and a data collection unit having a receiver that is configured to receive signals from the antennae of the temperature sensing tags. The cooling system may have a plurality of outlet conduit elements that are positioned within the housing. Each of the tags may be attached to one of the outlet conduits and may include a power supply, a temperature sensor, and an antenna.

A binary data transmission system uses a code consisting of n-bit code words of a quasi-cyclic code with k information bits and n-k check bits. An encoder and a decoder with an error-detection and -correction facility are provided which use a quasi-cyclic code that has a high error-correcting capacity and requires little storage space.
